Hello ladies and gentlemen,

So I introduced myself a few weeks ago and I thought it would be lame to just say "hi" and disappear, so I'm creating this thread to show off my WIP along with the completed results.

The plan (as it stands now) is to update this WIP thread with the highlights of my work, with my blog having extra pictures and other items I'm dabbling with. Feel free to follow my blog as well as make comments (praise or critiques) on anything you see. Infact, its welcomed, because one can only get better when flaws/areas for improvement are pointed out.

and the crew again.

I have more pictures close-ups on the blog if anyone is interested/curious. Thanks for looking :-D

Very nice!

I've always imagined orcs, goblins and uruks with dark grey colour of skin, but have to admit Peter Jackson's dark red/brown looks nice.

Some good looking uruks you got there (feels weird to say so ;D)
I like how you painted the skin. It's a bit different from the movies, but I like it ^^
Still like the darker skin more, but I have to admit they look nice!
Great work!

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. I tried to go for a more of a GW emulated look on the Uruk-Hai Crossbows. Dark Flesh/Doombull Brown followed by a brown/black wash and two to three up-shades/highlights (definitely diggin Tuskgor Fur for this rather than mixing yellow/tan for both highlights 8) ).

So I had some issues with my KotWT model. The face had a nasty air bubble taking a good portion of the nose and left eye with it (finecast at its finest obviously  ). Sadly, my sculpting skills weren't up to par when trying to fix it and I ended up making him look like a deformed caveman. In my frustration, I ended up sawing his head off and doing a head swap with one of the historical lines from Wargames Factory. I think it give him a pretty unique look, plus I wasn't a fan of that silly helmet he was originally wearing.

Let me know what you guys think. More pictures on the blog

So it's been awhile since I've posted anything here. I took a bit of a sabbatical over the summer and I'm just getting back into the swing of things as far hobbying goes. Over the past month I've been cranking out a new army which I'm hoping to field come this April. Below are some pictures of my endeavors thus far.

And my current WIP with some conversions I'm currently working. As always, more pics on the blog. Thanks for looking

The dwarves are brilliant, very well painted and again the bases really set them off.

Thanks for the comments guys, I really appreciate the praise.

Anyways, I hope everyone had a happy holiday season. I got a little bit done over the break. Anyhew, here is a progress I've made on some minor conversion work I posted earlier.

These Hobbit dwarves are somehow more deadly and realistic than the old LotR Dwarf warriors - they are dwarves but slightly taller, and the armour has more crafting plus the beards/hairlines are more characterful. I think I will have to have some of these.

Excellent work. You've got a lovely, clean style. You managed to make the uruk crossbowmen look good and that's no small thing.

Thanks for the compliments guys, definately a motivator (as well as tourny deadlines and whatnot)

Anyhew, this is my latest work... wasn't the easiest to paint with all the details. That and there aren't alot of examples floating about the interwebz.

I decided to go a little gruesome for the base. That, and I love the technical paint "Blood for the Blood God". Who knew a little varnish in red paint could look so cool. More pictures on the blog.

Happy Painting
