Only five weeks until AdeptiCon 2009, the “Can’t Miss” event of the Games Workshop miniature wargaming hobby! April 3rd-5th, 2009 will bring hundreds of gamers and hobbyists from across the world to Chicago for a weekend of fun and excitement.
AdeptiCon Guests of Honor Announced!
This year, AdeptiCon will bring in two Special Guests: Alesio Cavatore of the GW Games Development Studio and Chris Roberson, newest Black Library author.
Alessio Cavatore has been working for Games Workshop for over ten years, first as a translator for GW Italy, then in the Games Development studio in Nottingham, working on Warhammer Fantasy, Lord of the Rings, and Warhammer 40K. Most recently, in addition to his continuing work for Games Workshop, Alessio has released a new wargame, Shuuro, which combines both chess and elements of miniature wargaming.
Chris Roberson is a respected SF author whose novels include The Dragon's Nine Sons (Solaris, 2007) and Set the Seas on Fire (Solaris, 2007). Roberson has been a finalist for the World Fantasy Award for Short Fiction, twice for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, and three times for the Sideways Award for Best Alternate History Short Form (winning in 2004 with his story 'O One.') He runs the independent press MonkeyBrain books with his partner.

Medic!
Worried that your models may suffer some damage in transit? This year Adepticon will again be hosting the MiniMedic station all day Friday! Look for the Sign!
The MiniMedic station will offer a wide range of repair services, performed by an award winning professional modeler with 20 years of gaming experience, 15 of prop construction experience, and over 10 years of convention travel experience. Services will include emergency super glue fixes, emergency pinning, complex repair, large model repair, epoxy work, structural rebuilds and even limited patch painting.
MiniMedic services are free to Adepticon attendees. While the focus of the booth will be to act as a repair station for broken models, please come by to say hello and learn about techniques, tools and materials necessary to build models properly, or repair them quickly.
Mini medic service will be on a first come first serve basis, but every effort will be made to get downed minis back on the table quickly and keep unlucky travelers having fun at Adepticon this year!
Lord of the Rings Championships Prizes
In addition to the normal AdeptiCon prize support (generously donated by our AdeptiCon sponsors), the Lord of the Rings Championships will feature a special, one-of-a-kind prize: A Lord of the Rings movie poster signed by Peter Jackson himself.
Slots are still available for the Lord of the Rings Championships and our many other events. Register online at
