I went for a hill, as I currently have the materials to make one. However, a cave sounds pretty interesting.

I really don't want forest, I've just made four...

Useful tool for shaping foam the old Bondo Grader. This one is rusty because I use it on Damp plaster. The wire wheel will clean it up in moments but this one is too dull for foam. A new one Costs about the same as an Exacto knife. There is a smaller and larger size available. You can change blades too.I think this one was made by Stanley.

That sounds like a great idea although messy. I would have to get shop vac and my wife would not like that. I was wondering if a hand planer would be sharp enough?

I tried my spoke shave because it had a factory new blade. With a little adjustment I had moderate success, It tends to tear like soft wood with a dull blade. Makes the same mess. Give the hand planer a try. You could try out side and use a leaf blower to clean up  Keep the wife happy. I saw some cheap shop vacs.
$6.95,$7.95 and $8.95 for the grader at Home Depot.
If you have a hand planer try MDFB for the smooth hills. Might be too much work for a large project with out power tools.

Will there be a Terrain Construction Challenge when this poll ends? If so, when will it start?

I am going to try for November, if I can finish my family business and life will let it. My broken leg put me behind. I am much better. I still have a bit of catch up to do.

In the short term more suggestions are welcome and helpful
