Well I've just been to B & Q and picked up some perfect strips of pine wood for the construction, once Grond shows up I'll make a thread in the work-in-progress forum.

I'm going to make the howdah detachable from the great beasts pulling grond and the two great beast pulling grond detachable from grond itself so I can still use the orcs :-D

Over on TLA, Sithious created his own Grond. Here's a link.

For the "Great Beasts" he used toy rhinos sculpted to look like the movies.
I think it looks great! Can use it as reference to building the wooden structures.

That Grond look great, as I don't have enough skill (and truth be told patience) I'll be making a much simpler version of the frame.
Quick question though, will it be OK to use spray paint on the plaster Grond? Don't want to undercoat him and then watch him melt away!

I make a wash from craft paint and Future floor wax for plaster. It works so well my 4 1/2 year old foster child can get good results.I/2 water 1/4 woodland scenic pigment and 1/4 Future floor wax.

About the Beast, these are smaller than the new Gorgoroth's Beast, but I think they are perfect for this Grond.
