Hi, does anyone have any advide on what to use for arrows in a diaroma?
To be included in both the body of a figure running, a dead figure and on a bow being strung.

Thank you :legolas:

Brass rod with plasticard or thin card flights.

Or the arrows from the Warhammer Giant Sprue.

If it was me and I didn't care about whether fletching was visible (sometimes arrows break), I'd use straightened staples.
Not sure how you'd get viable fletching onto something so small, though, so it may not be what you're looking for.

For the arrows use the thinnest wire you can. I use guitar string (the D string works best) and, after I have unwound the outer wire excellent for a bow string) the thin core is great. If I cant find that I use very thin brass wire (I mean very thin). as for the fletch? I use either a sandwich of masking tape, the sticky bit of an envelope or a sticker over the wire then cut to shape. A good paint job also works wonders. I will post up some pics of my arrows soon. That way it doesnt look over scale and dodgy. If you cannot get guitar string, some of the thinner brass/copper wires in electrical cable work well. Slightly off topic but our HDMI cable broke so, being a total scrounger, I stripped it and retrieved the thin wire that is wound around the wire. It is as fine as hair and makes great bowstring.

Sticker paper for fletching is Brilliant! :yay: I'll have to remember that next time I'm making a diorama grade archer.

The best thing I've found for bowstring is actually from a sewing-supply store. There's this monofilament thread that's outrageously thin (I think it's .004 inch) but dark enough that it'll still be visible on the mini. Only problem I've found is in getting it positioned properly.
It looks great, but I wouldn't use it on regular, game-playing minis. :o

This is the method I use and it works quite well. You need thin rod/wire to get an realistic scale arrow though. Paperclips work quite well if you straighten them out and then clip them to size.

I also used green stuff instead of plasticard for the flights once as I was out of plasticard and that works fine if you're able to get it right.

I'm surprised no one talks about easterling arrows. I use those and I have to say that it looks good (undiscribable compared to the amount of work)

I use the easterling arrows too, and they work just fine.
