Post subject:  Goblin Town Scenery.
Hi Guys,

I have been sporadically assembling and painting the six plastic Goblin Town plastic sets that I bought with TEFGT boxed set, or were alternatively sourced from eBay. The idea being to build enough scenery to cover a 48" x 48" board with enough modular scenery to play the scenarios in the Hobbit book, and allow massively varied combinations of board layouts to be achieved to keep it fresh, and as an alternative to regular battles on grass.

I have become seriously bored with assembling the pieces in the standard manner and am now only producing converted pieces. It would be great to see if anyone out there has any good ideas on conversion and alternative assembly? Has anyone out there really gone to town,....GOBLIN TOWN? Please post images.

Ive made goblin town on a 48x24 board out of wood and the efgt box set.

I have been finished wit my set for quite awhile. I was going to replace my lake with one more like the Movie.I am also going to build a Goblin King section more like the Movie. I am going to finish the Moria Stair before I start on the new sections.

Much of this was done before the movie was released. I always thought of Goblin Town as a limestone cave.When I began seeing production photos I began to make wood cat walks. Every thing is modular so I can combine the custom parts with any thing else in my collection. I only have two of the plastic sets.I have not done much with them.

I have purchase supplies to make some conversions. More craft sticks and bamboo rods.I have cut some large bark sections for back drops.

I will use the bamboo and add the plastic sections to something like this to finish the Hobbit up grades.

I am going to use 2'X2' instead of 4'X4'

Hi Amarthadan, I have just converted a couple more double decker sections and probably have two more evenings of work on them. I am planning to have a game against one of my cousins and will happily post some images.

It looks great I agree with the limestone part although I could see wood bridges as well. it looks fantastic though!

if i look at all these photos it remindes me of isenguard.. infested by orcs offcourse!

I plain to start on a more dramatic back drop for the Goblin King's platform using dowel rod and pine bark. I want it to match Allen Lee's Concept art in Chronicles.

I am afraid not any time soon. My gaming group has zero interest in The Hobbit right now. They want to play Boltaction, Legends of the High Seas or the Alamo. I am about to start work on my annual Pulp Fiction Halloween game and a Hirst Arts Meet up.
There is some interest in Helms Deep but they don't want to use GW rules of any kind.
