Hi Guys, I have games workshops textured snow paint and I've not been blown away by it… I flocked it a wee bit afterwards to give a dappled effect but it does't look great, does anyone have any suggestions on something that looks a little better? I'm wanting to make a board up too so any suggestions for snow on a bigger scale would be good too! Cheers, Aaron |

Glue and Bicarb soda works brilliantly on bases, look it up. On a board? well aha... no idea. Sounds expensive to get a good effect. I have one tip though, see if you can round up an old article produced by GW called Winter in middle earth or something, i remember that looked good. |

glue and bicarb soda will yellow over time and we all know what they say about yellow snow....... Small scale crushed glass from secret weapon miniatures is perfect but probably not suitable for a board. |

I would try and get woodland scenics snow flock as it is available in massive quantities or dust over the entire board with white spray |

GW snow looks good at arms length, but up close or in pictures it's not great. Woodland scenics is more dusty. |

Hi Aaron, Elladan: "Here's an idea for an Arctic Tundra Gameboard from an old GW article. I think flocking the whole board with snow might not work. This board has just been painted very realistically like snow. You could flock small patches of snow onto it if you wanted."  Hope that helps with your game board project, |

Cheers guys! I'd heard that about bi-carb and glue but good to know about the flock, does it look realistic? Anyone thoughts on ice while we're on the subject? |

Sadly, there is no good way to do a realistic snow table. Salt and baking soda turn yellow. Woodland Scenic Snow gets dirty. Mica flakes are too big. The best bet is to add the flock without glue and vacuum it up afterward. That Is what we do with Christmas villages. A white sheet and some salt or baking soda is not too hard to clean up and will look good for a game. Put the hills under the sheet and add a few of the snow covered Christmas decoration trees Use a round mirror dry brushed white and sprinkled with snow flock for a pond. I do not have a snow table photo because they s......  They look like a sheet on a table with some cheep trees.  Sorry
