Well, more than what I already am anyway. I can see don't have much time, not even time to switch back your avatar! You're still in the Xmas-sphere! |

I was at GW today and told the manager I felt like I was playing GW's red-headed step-child game. He could only tell me more stuff is planned and on the way, but no details. They're currently focused on two Warhammer armies recently updated (Dark Eldar or something?) and after that we might see more stuff. One can only hope... |

I've just come back form a long hiatus and I've notice fewer members on line at any given time. I was disillusioned by GW's constant price increases and general lack of support for SBG. But I couldn't stay away for ever. Besides I've found some very nice alternative models to use in conjunction with the GW models I have. Rob |

I'm sure that support for LOTR will grow again and with the Hobbit and we'll have another two or three really good years. I don't know whether they will withdraw SBG altogether, unlikely given the good turnouts for the SBG tourneys, but they definately want to get us playing WOTR there's no question about that. The LOTR scene will quieten down on it's own, peppered by spikes in populairty with new film releases (I wonder if they stop at the Hobbit if it does wel...) But that's ok, we have a great range of models and some good game systems. It will be going string for a very long time. |

Speaking of which, there is a mini campaign featuring the Fall of the Necromancer in this months White Dwarf. |

And I've heard rumours of some major new offerings for the LOTR game this year, but I don't have any details unfortunately. My involvement in the site has temporarily diminished while I've been busy organising a gaming convention for April - it's been sucking up all of my time preparing for it (making game tables, signs, organising games and tournaments, and generally worrying a lot), so the site redesign has been put on hold until after the convention has been and gone. |

Quote: I just had to fight with one of those login images where it is next to impossible to distinguish whether you are looking at a g, an 8 or a 9... and I have no idea how anyone with red/green colour-blindness would cope. Like me it is just impossible to do it for me with my colour blindless so I always have to ask someone what do they say? So when I'm alone I just can't post answers because everytime I log in I have to do that stupid thing. |

Why doesn't 'The One Ring' ally with 'The Last Alliance'? I see a lot of same users on the websites? |

Because even in its current state, One Ring looks and functions better. Nicer crowd too The old TLA was probably one of the ugliest sites this side Mordor. Lots of content though... |

I'm just glad we still have the Tomes of Wisdom, they are what makes this site truly exceptional IMO, along with the people of course . |

The problem with the old tla site was that some articles where really bad quality the one ring articles are less but a very high quality. |

Hmmhm.. I don't think I am really considered a old OR member or not... I haven't touched a brush in .. wow.. somewhere around a year! Things for me in the hobby I have come to a shcreeching halt, a) Darn GW's expensive prices! b) No one to play a game with c) To many other hobbies! d) Ok so y'all got to say this hobby is just down right expensive! ( paints, models, brushes, time..etc ) Though with all thoughs things that make this hobby a pain in the butt, there is still one thing that makes me want to continue it ( haven't figured that one out yet ). |

werner wrote: Why doesn't 'The One Ring' ally with 'The Last Alliance'? I see a lot of same users on the websites? Because it's nice for people to have the choice of where they want to go. I know many OR members who will never have the desire to use TLA, and many TLA members who will never have the desire to use OR. Whilst they are for the same thing, they are each unique in their own way. kidterminal wrote: OR has better moderators than TLA, which leads to less unnecessary rough stuff on the forums. I like to think I know the majority of the staff on both OR and TLA, and they're all great people and do their job well. Though I do agree that the quality of content on OR is generally of a higher standard. But both sites are relaxed places to be. |

I think it also has to do with the focus of the different sites. TLA is more of a gaming site and is more centered on the UK, wereas O-R is more of a hobby site, focused around the world. TLA tends to have more nit-picky rules discussions and such that can lead to disagreements and arguments easier then comments on a wip will. |

We I got 8 thread notifications on Sunday. That's the level of OR traffic I used to get on a Sunday in the old days. I think OR's on the mend. Rob |
