Is there any reason I can't have two formation of these guys in a themed army?
I ask this because of the painting challenge and I'm a little unclear how many barrow wights I might have floating around!

don't think it would be a problem I guess there were more then 8 Barrow-Whights

Well, I'm sure there were more. I am a little confused where the idea of having armies of barrow-wights came from, but we'll ignore that and just say that the Witch King is sending the same sorts of spirits en masse against the enemy. Or something. Useful to get the blighters painted, nonetheless! |

Maybe you could field your spare ones in spectral hosts formations. |
