I chose a fairly limited palette for these guys, keeping them looking like a unit but still having some variety in the tunics. I also gave some of them a motif on the cloaks. I figure any pix of other members work is food for thought, you might get inspiration for them, or choose something completely different, that's the beauty of this hobby.

Very nice Wood Elves, El Rabbito. Thank you very much for sharing them. 8)

I've been having such a hard time on deciding what colors to use for mine. I've really been striving for a Woodland color scheme, focusing on using dark and rich greens and browns. I agree with you on keeping the colors linited, it makes them feel like a nice cohesive force. I really like the way you painted your greens, would you mind sharing how you painted them?

If worse comes to worse and I can't fully decide on a woodland color scheme I like, I may just use GW's scheme. :(

I used a goblin green darkened down as the base coat, then added something like bleached bone to lighten the top coats. It's hard to see in the pic but some of the tunics have a lighter green border added just for a bit more detail on some individuals.
I dont tend use GW paint except for metallics (they do have very good silver and golds). So a comprehensive guide is tricky. The blue grey colour is paynes grey, it's a blue black colour in it's raw form but with a bone colour added to it it gives a nice shad...it's also very useful for buildings.

Thanks, guys. I'm hoping to paint the cloak today, so I'll be sure to update if I do. :)

Well, I've decided to choose the path of least resistence: I'll be painting my WE's with a similar color scheme to GW. I was just having too hard a time deciding upon the right colors for the woodland scheme, its just much easier this way and I can finally begin painting in full force again. :)

I began work on the sashes of 3 WE's, so far it looks very nice and has reinforced my descion. I'm going to using a shadowy grey color for all of the sashes in my force. So, here they are...

Thanks, SkymaN. :)

They were actually very easy to paint. I started with a basecoat of Shadow Grey, to highlight I added in small amounts of Skull White. I then added a small amount of Chaos Black into Shadow Grey and then watered this down and washed it into the recesses. Quick and easy, yet it still gets great results. :)

I'll probably begin work on the cloaks tonight, hopefully I'll have another update either today or tomorrow. :)

Thanks, Dave. :)

I also finished the tunics today, but it's too dark out to get a decent picture. I'll be sure to update tomorrow though. :)

The blue looks quite nice. The green was pretty good but it is still a little too dark. If you had painted each colour lighter, like the blue, I don't think you would have had as much trouble.

Thanks all, I appreaciate the comments.

@ Dwarf Lord of Ered Luin: It wasn't so much the green that gave me trouble, it was the brown mainly. I'm actually using a dark green on these models as well, similar to GW's scheme. I look to have another update today guys. :)

An update finally!

As an early Christmas present I received a blister pack of Uruk-hai Berserkers, and I got to work on them this morning. I painted all of the metal areas, and the white-hand markings on the helmet. Here they are...

How do they look? I'm pleased with them so far, but a lot of work remains. I'm very pleased with the models as well, they're very nice. C&C welcome. :)

Nice start on the Berserkers! Unfortunately I'm using my spare computer, which has a very out-of-date color card, so all I can make out are the white hands  However, they look very nice. I look forward to seeing them in completion (On my good computer)

Thanks, Anduril. :)

I finished up the skin on two of the berserkers today, and I hope to finish the skin on the other one tomorrow. Look for another update then! :)
