Cheers mate, this is a really cool model.

not sure what colour to go with for the scales, I thought black at first but am steering towards a more Dark Angels green type of colour.

Nice work, Tim. I think Dark Angels Green should look good for the scales. I look forward to seeing more of your progress. :)

although not as clean as some of your other work, still very nice blending! Always a pleasure to look at your work.

about the scales: what about grey white? Or brown? or Purple?

I'm sure you will pick the best color!

Thanks Dorth, I've taken time off Selene to paint another mini for my local stockist to display. He wanted a Vostroyan so I had a couple lying around and picked this chap to paint. To be honest I have never been big on IG but this one is turning out to be quite alot of fun to do,

I hope you like it as much as I am enjoying painting it, though this mini is proving one thing to me and that is that I am overdue for another eye test and probably a newer stronger pair of glasses.

Great one Tim. I'm a bit surprised because I'd expect some more contrast in that red robe compared to your other works but nonetheless i looks exepctional ;)

Thanks guys, there is actually a little more depth in the red than shows in the pictures but I am happy with them, I am struggling to keep the detail sharp at the moment I am in serious need of an eye test and new glasses hopefully next week I can get into the opticians and get myself sorted again.

Finally got this finished last night and managed to get some decent pics of it this evening before taking it down to the store where it is now on display, I enjoyed painting the mini, I did find it quite challenging as some of the detail is so fine that it became hard to distinguish when painting,

Now I can move onto something a bit more me for my next project. Hope you like it guys.

You know what I'd give to be able to paint like that?

Just...stunning. The base does justice to the miniature, without taking all the attention. Every little detail is picked out. And you did the (wax?) on the purity seals in blue instead of red, not something I've seen before!

Tim - a masterful painting display, as ever. The face is utterly incredible - how do you do it, especially if your eyes are not at 100%? (mine are a mess!)
Just keep them coming - it does my heart good to see such a wide variety of differently themed/sized minis, thoughtfully painted to the very highest standard.

Bloody brilliant job Tim. The only thing I pick out that seems even a tiny bit lacking is the hat, maybe a few darker shadows in the depths? Will you be doing some more Red Box Minis soon? I'm interested in how good they look painted... :)
