Wondered if there was any sites, links, whatever, where there's galleries of gaming boards to look at. I've got a 6x4 board for WHFB waiting to be decorated right now and want to make something a bit more themed than the typical grass/hills. Still a plains-type thingamadeal, but with something else that fits in but makes it more distinctive.

So anyway, any sites I should look at?

And, if not, I'm open for ideas. Right now I'm looking at either a strong ruins theme or a village. Just checked Thormarillion for the first time and I'm frankly amazed--their stuff is just shocking, if expensive.

Well, just a plain flat board, well decorated can be a good idea aswell. Then make some hills, ruins or w/e to fill in the board. Here's a pic of my table:

With some scenery:

Still have allot of scenery coming up, but this might give you an idea if any of the other things might fail: a plain and simple, yet good looking board! :D

THIS link might be helpful to you.
Just remember that there is always a trade off between having beautiful terrain and keeping it playable.
