The Fellowship of the Ring was my favorite. The 3rd was far too long for people who hadn't read the books and at least 40 minutes of it should have been kept back for a "book readers special edition".

The favourite scenes for me has to be in Return of the King,
when Sam explains to Frodo that there is always good in the world and its worth fighting for.

Secondly the ascent of Mount Doom where Sam carries Frodo.

Pelennor Fields: Theoden's rousing speech and subsequent charge.
Some of the acting in these movies is absolutely brilliant, in the aforementioned scene, when Theoden first sees the enemy sprawled over the battlefield the range of expressions that cross his face is amazing: from shock and fear to determination and resolution, love it.

I absolutely LOVE the Lighting of the Beacons, its a great scene that always sends shivers down my spine. I also like most of the parts where reinforcements arrive to save everyone. The Corsairs scene is quite funny aswell. :)

My fave scene is Faramir's flashback scene in the Extended Edition of The Two Towers. Boromir's speech is really cool. His last stand thing in the Fellowship of the Ring is awesome as well.

Got to be the Balrobg sceens for me across the 2 films.
Its has my 3 favorite quotable quotes...

'You shall not pass!'
'Run, you fools.'
and best of all...

'I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountain side.'

Same here, and the music.. Wow.

Every movie has great scene's, so I can't really choose.
Then again there are so many things missing.

After seeing the movies so many times, I begin to notice small, really small details, that are really awesome (or not:P)

I do believe he says, "Now for wrath, now for ruin and the red dawn. Forth Eorlingas!" but yeah, that is a cool part. :D my favorite part would probably be... ooh, hard one... the last charge of the Rohirrim. (I think that's how u spell it... )

The Hobbit's journey from Bree to Rivendell would be my favorite scenes. Pippin falling on his face in the Marshes is just great. :pippin:

The Shire in the beginning of the Extended Edition, and the look into the simple rustic Hobbit life.

Would have liked to have the Scouring in the end. But I also enjoyed the heroes returning and finding a big pumpkin is bigger news to their countrymen than Sauron's defeat.

One of my favorite scenes is for a silly reason. It is the scene when Boromir is dying and Aragon is leaning over him listening to his last words. It is not one of my favorites because of the content, but because of the filming error I noticed watching it once.

Image
Boromir's right hand is on Aragon's shoulder.

Image
Boromir's right hand is NOT on Aragon's shoulder.

As you watch the exchange between Boromir and Aragon, you will notice that Boromir's right hand is on Aragon's shoulder when looking at Aragon, but not when you are looking at Boromir.

I know, it is silly. But I find it funny that one of the best movie franchies ever that spent so much time on small details and every little thing could still make a simple little mistake.
