How is this for a 500 pt army?

2 uruk-hai captains (one with shield, one with crossbow)
1 Uruk-hai shaman
13 Uruk-hai with shields
12 uruk-hai w/ xbows
13 orcs w/ spears

500 points, 41 units, 5 might, 12 strength 4 shots
I was thinking about dropping the captains, shaman and one xbow and taking saruman but not sure. Let me know what you think.

I don't think models with pikes can carry anything else. I would give the orcs spears and make them your second rank in the pike block even if it dosen't look so cool.

You also seem a little hero heavy. I would drop the shaman OR one of the captains.

i would rather drop the crossbow captain than the shaman in my opinion.
i love magic though so that is a bit biased
if you want more might then keep both the captains.
i would then bring in a banner and another few orcs

Right, thanks for the comments. Don't think a banner is necessary with uruks or particularly useful but maybe. I have 2 one which is based around saruman and the other with numbers.

Sharku w/shield - 60
1 Uruk-hai shaman - 50
19 Uruk-hai with shields - 190
4 uruk-hai w/ pikes - 40
18 orcs w/ spears - 108
4 warg riders w/ shield - 52

499 points, 47 units, 4 might

OR

Saruman - 170
12 Uruk-hai with shields - 120
12 uruk-hai w/ xbows - 132
13 orcs w/ spears - 78

500 points, 38 units, 3 might, 12 strength 4 shots and saruman.

I am sorta of leaning towards the first list, but saruman makes the second list interesting.

Yes the first list look betetr but when you see Sarruman in the second you think"maybe"

I would stick with the first list, but I'd drop the Shaman and maybe one of the Captains, and get some more Uruk-hai, including Berserkers.

Thanks, I have made a slight modification to that list which I think makes it more effective. I basically swapped out the shaman and the pike for a captain with heavy armour and a shield. Let me know what you think.

Looks good. I would drop the shield on the captain and 2 uruks with shields and an orc to get 3 more uruks with pikes. The only problem I think would be lack of shots and it might be tricky to find a decent amount of shots to squeeze in there.

I like the original original army list. The strength 5 of the Uruk captains can be very handy.

Although I think replacing the shaman with some more troops would be a good idea. Maybe increase the number of spears so that you can back up the crossbows when they get into combat.

In my experience Saruman is too expensive for 500 point games.
