Hi there, I was looking at the moria section of the GW site and I was noticing the (slightly more) elite goblin troops. And since the moria battle companies only have your basic gobbos included it seemed right to include some of the newer releases. So my questions is, how should I incorporate them into BCs?
(can also apply to other races).

It would be pretty easy to just create a new advancement table. I have been working on an update of the battle company rules, but have had to put it on hold for the time being.

Battle Companies had some kind of promotion table - or was that the advancement table? Anyway, I was just a few days ago thinking the same, considering promotion from regular goblins to prowlers. But Moria had a model limit of 25 instead of the normal 15 if I remember correctly, so that should probably be tweked a bit if they had access to more powerful models.

well with the release of the blackshields you could just change it so that when a model gets upgraded to a prowler it has a 50/50 chance of becoming a blackshield instead....

All interesting thoughts. I wish you well with your update Erunion and I look forward to it.

Valpas: Yes you are correct with the promos- I think it would require a bit of play testing to figure out but sadly I don't have an opponent now.

Shadow: The 50/50 chance is a good concept or maybe a prowler could get promoted to a BS? Goblin -> Prowler -> Blackshield maybe?

Thanks for the food for thought.

Perhaps archers are upgraded to prowlers, shieldsmen are upgraded to gundabads, and spearmen you can choose whether to have a prowler with 2H or gundabad with shield.
