I'm finding it difficult to think of a unique colour scheme for my new easterling warriors. I dont want their armour to be gold, I want it to be silver. I just dont know what colour i should use for their clothing? Any suggestions?

yeah i kind of had an isengard theme in my head, but im unsure. I may try that actually, and leave the clothing black with grey highlights, see how it comes out

I think dark blue or black or even violet would look good. A friend of mine (who happens to be a semi-proffessional painter) painted his easterlings dark blue with light blue armour which was then given a layer of gloss varnish and they looked really great.

Yellow is an underused colour in LOTR; I use it for my Easterling horse archers, with red detailing and black sashes. They end up looking a bit Ancient Persian, but that's no bad thing. My Easterlings with beards and axes have a bit of yellow about them too, but their banner is a tiger face, so they get a lot of tiger skin, and a few bits of copper/bronze armour (but not enough to get them a score of 4 for Defence).

By e=Easterlings with beards and axes, horse archwers and sashes, you mean the models that GW want us to call Khandish.

I think it was just enchanted blue highlighted with ice blue but I'm not sure. He didn't use any metallic paints except on the swords but the gloss varnish on the armour gave it a very good look. They didn't exactly look like they came from the deserts of Rhun with all those blues and snowy bases :P so it may not fit the theme you want.

No, I've got my old Samurai to do that job. These are old barbarian figures, plus a few Wargames Factory bits and pieces and self sculpts.

I wouldn't go for black cloth and slver armour, its too stereotypical evil, like Ringwraiths, Castellans, Black Numenoreans etc...

I've decided I want to paint their clothing white and green, with green shields and silver armour with dark red boots. I will have pictures up soon so you can all vomit over them. I kinda chose an Osiris kind of theme

Interesting combination of colours, I'm intrigued to see how it turns out.
