Lothlórien Army List (SBG)

Hi, here's my 1000pt Lothlórien List:

Legolas: 90pts

8 Wood elf warriors/elven blade, throwing daggers: 80pts
8 Wood elf warriors/spear, throwing daggers: 80
6 Wood elf warriors/elf bow: 54pts
1 Wood elf warriors/banner: 42pts

Haldir/armour, elf bow: 80pts

1 Galadhrim captain/armour, elf Bow 75pts

19 Galadhrim warriors/elven blade: 171pts
13 Galadhrim warriors/elf bow: 130pts
1 Galadhrim warrior/banner: 43pts

Galadriel/mirror of Galadriel: 155pts

60 models, 22 bows (with heroes), 1000pts, 11 might

Nice list but there are a few things, your bow limit for the Galadhrim contingent is all wrong, you've listed 13 warriors with bow and only 20 without, so you need another 6 non bow armed models. A suggestion would be to ally Glorfindel in, at 100pts there is a 99% chance your opponent will have a horrible fight 6 monster like the SQ, or maybe even a troll chief, glorfindels ability to outfight them is very useful (even better you could use Gil-Galad, he is a "legal" ally, but it isn't very thematic)

The galadhrim is in the same contingent as the wood elves. There is one contingent from Lothlórien, which is all the miniatures except Legolas, and one contingent from Mirkwood, which is only Legolas. I think that solves the problem?

I'll see what I can do with the Glorfindel-suggestion, by the way. Thanks!

Expect the bow limit everything seems fine... I would suggest Glorfindel as well althought Haldir and Legolas can kill many enemies with arrows

All the units except Legolas is from the same contingent, so I can't see the problem with the bow limit. Could anyone explain? Ehe.

You have 37 soldiers without bow and 19 with bows...
In total you have 56 soldiers(you don't count heroes) If 19 of them have bows then more than one third of your force have bows and this is illegal...

Perhaps you should replace the generic captain with a stormcaller and you may wanna get some galadhrim guards, they are useful for saving heroes that have been transfixed, because if one joins a fight involving one of your transfixed heroes and some other go in for pike support then they carry in their own fight 6 into the fight (making up for the heroes fight 1) and can provide two extra attacks for the transfixed hero/guard involved in fight.

Glorfindel: 130pts

19 Galadhrim warriors/elven blade: 171pts
15 Galadhrim warriors/elf bow: 150pts
1 Galadhrim warrior/banner: 43pts

Galadriel/mirror of Galadriel: 155pts

52 models, 18 bows (with heroes), 1000pts, 12 might

I guess that should solve the problem?

Seems pretty good to me, the only thing that cones mind is maybe using the other glorfindel, but that isn't necessarily a really big ussue, you nay find yourself not even needing the bonus armour+magic resistance. I'm guessing your plan is to huddle around the mirror and shoot the enemy. If your opponent wants to "roll for a scenario" then drop the mirror, cos there's a good chance it will be useless (trade it for some horses or elf cloaks maybe)

Yeah, I see your point. I guess I'll be going for extra armour if the scenario calls for too much mobility for the mirror to prove efficient. Thank you!

That's really low numbers for 1000 points, you don't need all those heroes...I'd say 3 max: Legolas, Galadriel and Glorfindel (or the Twins). You don't need the banners either, just max out troops...you should try to hit at least low 60s.

For equipment, Galadhrim warriors can now take shields, well worth it against those S2 bows. Though maybe you're not looking to buy the new plastic set...

If you're thinking of adding anything, you might try some Guards. You can get 6 for the point cost of Haldir, gives you pike support, they can shield, and have higher fight than your average elf.

Haha, I like the look of the old ones better. xP But yes, I thought about getting some guards and using them for pike support. But where can I get the stats for them in the SBG? There are a lot of new miniatures that I can only find the WotR stats for...

Go on the games workshop site, click on the little button that says "white dwarf" then click on the "white dwarf archive" then go into the lord of the rings section, click on gaming and there are numerous article including lotr profiles, the one your after is the galadhrim host

You will need to make a GW account to view the files tho

I bought 6 Guards of Caras Galadhon today, so now I have some spears in my army! It's nice with 5 defence too. Haha. Thanks, Wafrog!

By the way, I found the new stats for Haldir where he cost 70 points. I guess I'll be using him if I ally with Rohan and use Theoden. x)

Glad you like 'em. They have pikes, BTW, so you can get three dice on your lead warrior. Makes the line very hard to break...
