Hi I am planning on creating a elven army...
I have thought of Galadriel along a box of galdrhim warriors and galdhrim knightsa allied with Legolas...
I don't have the fall of the necromancher so no elves from Thranduil halls...
Any advice how to continue further :?:

Go on to GW's webiste, sign in, go to White Dwarf articles, to the collecting or gaming articles and find the Galadhrim article which will give you a series of profiles and a list to field such an army, would give you the present Galadhrim profiles, which aren't in the Fall of the Necromancer anyway.

Though what i don't get is they have Armour, not Heavy Armour, yet the same visibly armoured High Elf is armed with Heavy Armour, strange to me.

Sorry i thought he was after the Galadhrim rules and not the Thranduril and his Mirkwood forces ones lol. Seeing as you have the rules for Legolas and Galadriel in the rulebook and the Galadhrim ones are free on the site i thought that was what he was after.

The rules for the Elves from the Fall of the Necromancer are also on the side, well the profiles are, the pts are in LOME, eg, go on to GW site, click on wood elf box, scroll down the page and you willl find SBG and WOTR profiles of Wood Elves. You can do the same for Elf Commnad, Sentinals, Thranduil etc...

Wood elf profiles and equipment options are the same in the Galadhrim list as they are in the other lists. The only thing you're missing is the wood elf spear rule (allows them to shield), and Sentinels.

Well just take a Galadhrim, take out the Blade and the Armour, knock a point of for each and then you have a Wood Elf Warrior, they have more or less the same profile.

As for Thranduril i wouldn't take him, doesn't seem the best for his points, even with the best Shoot value in the game!

Well, when it comes to galdahrim warriors with shields, convert as many as you can into spearmen, having a few elf blades around to crack the armour of trolls/wraiths is very useful, but you only need a couple of them to get the job done.

I wouldn't buy a box of galadhrim knights, they arent very good, youd be better off with another box of infantry

That's a good start, what points are you looking to do? 500? 750? 1000? That would help us to help you.

Spears/shields are the best way to go for infantry, and give ALL the knights bows before giving them to infantry. The knight's increased movement along with the "woodland Creature" rule is just too good to pass up. They are best used as ranged, unless you really need to commit them to break the enemy. Be careful with the knights.

You would be smart to go
Many with shields and spears
Few with elven blades
Just under 1/3 with bow
Legolas
Galadriel
4 Elf knights with shield and bow>

THen I would look to Rumil if you were going to add another themed elven hero. He is da Shizz as a rioter would say

what I would do is:

-Rumil

-26 galadrim warriors with shield and spear
-9 galadrim warriors with elf bow
-9 wood elves with elf bow and spear
-10 galadrim knights with shield

700 pts, 55 units, 18 bows, 3 might

you could also give the knights bows instead of infantry but I prefer using them for "hammer-and-anviling"
and yes, not much heroes/might, but I think numbers will make up for that

hope it helped :)

you could drop half the spears on the Galadrim if it is leterally possible and your not stuck with elven blades instead, you could also swap the Galadrim with bows for more wood elves. otherwise, friskuhntm's list is good.

Here is the army I am thinking about.. Don't ask me to buy metal figures because in my coutnry they are out of stock...
Galadriel with mirror 155p.
Haldir armour and bow 80p.
8 Galadhrim warriors with spear and shield 80p.
8 Galadhrim warriors with elven blades 72p.
8 Galadhrim warriors with bows 80p.
4 Galdhrim knights with glaives and shields 76p.
2 Galadrhim knights with bows 38p.
Legolas with armor 95p.
So 676 points without being able to buy metal ones... :)

It's called converting, and is totally legal as long as the model is allowed to carry all the items converted.

it's kind'a hero heavy, drop either legolas or galadriel for more numbers.
so I suggest you buy another box of galadrim warriors.

as for buying metal miniatures; ebay is a great way to get any models for cheap. 8)
