Thranduril's Halls:
Legolas - 90pts
8 Wood Elves with elf bow - 72pts
8 Wood Elves with throwing daggers - 72pts
8 Wood Elves with spear - 64pts

Erebor:
Gimli - 90pts
10 Khazad Guard - 110pts

Totals:
36 Models, 11 Bows (including Legolas' three shots), 6 Might

I made up this list for a game today, and am so pleased with it I decided to share it here. It's both very thematic and pretty competitive. It has very strong archery, has a plentiful supply of Might, has a formidable core in the Khazad Guards, and has a high Courage and Fight. The only two flaws I can find are quite minor; a little low on numbers and not particularly mobile.

I like it. One more bow and you can volley...unfortunately that means 9/9/9 instead of 8/8/8 and fewer dwarves, might not be worth it, 10 Khazad makes a great defensive line

I did consider this too, but I decided not to bother.

I'm having a slight dilemma over who I should chose as my army leader. Gimli would obviously be much better for To Kill a King, but I think Legolas would just trump him for Contest of Champions. Thoughts?

I would go for Gimli; a choice for 3 attacks and if you use two attacks you get a +1 to wound! I have always used Gimli as my leader for any force that contains him. Legolas' shooting would only be good at the beginning of the game and after that I'm pretty sure Gimli would take over.
