i really want a simple little army to use as i really like playing small, easy to set up games.

i have plenty of uruk scouts and uruk warriors (only 3 crossbows)
16 warg riders
ugluk
vrasku
lurtz
uruk captain (shield)
2 uruk banners.

ok my first idea was:

vrasku 60pts
5 scouts (bow) 45pts
5 scouts (shield) 45pts
5 scouts 40pts
6 warg riders (shield) 78pts
2 warg rider (shield+throwing spear) 30pts

total 298pts

any thoughts on this army, any suggestions to improve.

also any ideas for a good army for uruk hai warriors. (by the way i do not mind about LOME as these are just games for fun, but i do like a good theme)

Personally i would go:

Vrasku 60
9 Scout Bow
9 Scout Shield
9 Scout

Total: 294

Basic but it works as a themed and playable force.

Though if you want to go all out then:

6 Warg Riders Bow 78
11 Warg Riders Throwing Spear 154
Warg Rider 12
Sharku 55

Total: 299

I know you may not have the models for both lists but working within a reasonable few extras these lists are doable.

ok cool, i love the sharku force, i will see if i can beg for sharku for christmas. i've never played an all cavalry force before and it sounds good fun

A really simple 300pts army for Isengard is this:

Uruk hai Captain with heavy armour and shield - 60pts
Uruk hai Warrior with banner - 39pts
10 Uruk hai Warriors with shields - 100pts
10 Uruk hai Warriors with pikes - 100pts

Totals: 299pts, 22 models, 2 Might, 0 shots

Like I said, very simple.

very nice and simple, however i would really like some archery in my army.
still, that wall of uruks would be really tough to stop

Isengard is my favourite army (I've over 400 uruks painted).
It's fun to field a variety of models as you have planned.
I once sent in a force purely made up of pikemen. It was great! When they engaged in combat, they were unstoppable. With three attacks (with two supporting models) they thrashed my opponent's army. Of course, it might have turned out differently if he had chosen a better army.
