Finally, after two years of waiting, begging the few who had models to dust em off and bring them to the store so i could get a game in... and the new source books are here. My phone is ringing non stop for people looking for a game! There's even talk of a campaign! I'm literally giddy with excitement! Haha!

So i'm managed to get one game in so far with the new source books and warbands, the last few games i played were all at 750pts so i had to trim down to 500 to play my opponent.

This was a 5 minute list thrown together with the few models i keep in my case on the off chance someone wants to play.

Monkey Twins
-Heavy Armor

8 Rangers of Arnor
-Spears

2 Rangers of the North
Spears

Gimili
-Elven Cloak

8 Dwarf Warriors
-Shields

4 Khazad Guard

And of Course Pippin, cuz he's awesome.

So now i'm looking once more into list development, some back story, and overall gameplay results. It faced a Uruk army made up even Pikes, Shields and Orc spears with Saruman and Lurtz.

What am i pondering?

-Bringing back Halbarad, with a slight chance of using the Banner.
-Really want Strider! But he's so freaking expensive!!!
-Some Vault Wardens
-Dropping characters for regular vanilla captains (this will be highly necessary for a story campaign that's being formulated, vanilla captain who gains attributes for each battle/kills he plays in.

Now The latter half of the topic.

I need an Evil Army, just so i'm not stuck with the grey company fighting elves/hobbits etc. Any ideas? I haven't been able to pick up any of the evil sourcebooks yet but the Easterlings with their new models are looking tasty...

Uruks are OUT. 4 out of our 6 players are all playing Uruk-hai, makes me want to start a massive rohirrim army...

Thanks for taking a look!

1) Welcome back in action...
2) Halbarad is a very cheap but useful character...
3) After you got experience with your army you can modify it right to get him...
4)Vault wardens are good for scenarios with a lot of terrain or objectives, I think Iron guards would be more useful...
5) Don't know about that...

Easterlings is a very easy army to play with while Rohan is too hard to be used... Choise is yours 8)

Easterlings finally seem like a complete option: solid base troops, upgrades to elites, kataphract drummers, and decent heroes. It doesn't seem like you'd have to ally with anybody to make them work.

Easterlings look great, they last awhile because of their armor and the fact that they can be upgraded makes them even better.
