my problem for now, is that i dont know wich colours to paint my horses.... I dont want them all brown :shock:

and i have 30 horses to paint...... anyway an offtopic question how many horses can i use on WOTR? Im kinda thinking on using 10 more...so 40 horses? hell ya *___*

10 companies is 20 horses, but you should get more than that.

For colours; dark brown, light brown, medium brown, dark grey, light grey, medium grey, white, ginger, dark ginger. Is that enough different colours?

actually the photos sux + bad website to update, even if i post good pictures they loose like half their quality? Try using imageshack and see for yourself ;/ any sugestion of a better website where i can upload my pictures without loosing quality? -.-

What is ginger?? I google it "ginger horse" and i got this

, i guess i need 8 more then because i will use 2 mounted heros at least.. I will use captains and some banners too, how many u sugest? i was thinking on using 1 banner and 1 captain for each 4 companies..

now serious, i dont know what colour is ginger

can someone give me an example?? all i got is something near brown red or something

Forget the Captains, just have Epics and Banners.

That 'ginger horse' would not be suitable of course, but what a find!

Its a kind of orangey yellowy brownish colour.

The captains and banners for the infantry, not the cavalary :oops:

Why not put the Rohirrim mtd in blocks of 5. And in 6s on foot, 3 for archers on foot, 4 for Royal Guards on foot, and 3s for mounted Royal Knights.

i will try to paint a ginger horse then! Tomorrow i think i have this rider finish so tomorrow by this time i post my ginger horse here

cant be that hard. What u sugest to use as base colour? i kinda mix colours a lot.. Maybe a middle brown with some orange collour? or a darker brown?

I was talking about the infantry, so no captains for the infantry? And it is a good number 1 banner for each 4 companies? I think it is good :roll:

because the ratio of the banner affect's all 4 companies, no need of more, and i use unit's of 4 company's... it is better because gives me 2 extra rolls

for the horse, just try both colours, it works the best to know how they look.

for the gaming part, banners are good, also for your infantry, but I prefer to skip them in archers, as they shouldn't get in combat
heroes mostly epics, ally in elladan and elrohir for example

i used my rohirrim in a unit of 5, and i will use it like that with the 30 horses, 3 units of 5, still what about them? Should i use Banners for the rohirrim too?

banners are even more importnt for the rohirim than for the foot troops

you can only have 1 banner a unit in wotr

mastermanje is correct, you can't have more than one of any upgrade in the same formation.

3 formations of Riders of Rohan, each of 5 companies with a banner and a decent epic hero are a good start. Foot trrops don't need any banners unless they are Beserk (or similar) like Carn Dum, Black Guard, Dunledings

About the ginger horse, start with a darkish brown, and then start mixing in lighter browns and oranges for the highlights, layers and drybrushes.

I was just asking if it is better 1 banner for each unit or if it is to much because it cost a lot of points 3 banners + the banners and captains for the infantry.. that is my question..

I suposse that even if i use 6 banners would cost me only 175 pts, i can live with that :roll:

photobucket vs Imageshack

Well photobucket looks much better, doesnt loose so much the highlights

and it keeps the original quality wich is great, the second photo from imageshack lost half of the highlights... thanks DMS

EDIT well...actually photobucket looses quality too and it is much brighter lol

On the gaming side, don't put any banners in your infantry, no real need for normal captains either, you'll do better without them. Banners for cavalry only, not in infantry.

Of those two photos, I'd say the top one looks a little better.

what about hero's? im thinking on using 2 unit's of 6 companies
3 units of riders of rohan - 5 companies each plus 1 banner for eacher unit

heros what is better mounted hero's of ft? i realy like theodred mtd

and mayby hama with some royal guards + eomer ftw with 1 unit of infantry?
