My new 500 point army

My new army is:

1x Dragon w flying/fire
12x Black Guard of Barad-Dûr w shield/heavy armour

What do you think?

It's both tiny and badly themed. I actally think you could have made t better if you had taken Though Hide or Wyrmtounge instead of Fly.

THe only 2 upgrades worth getting are Fly and Tough Hide. Both Wyrmtongue and Breathe Fire are rubbish.

dragons are risky to say the least at this level, if the rules are still the same it is only 1 wound and it could just run away if it failed its courage test. you need more numbers, a dragon just isn't powerfull enough to hold its own, try getting some morranon orcs and maybe a great beast of gorgoroth if you want a monster, or just a standard troll, they do the job!

I would agree with Horde lord and hobbitsrule, 13 models at 500 points is really tiny, and to invest well over half your points on something that could run away on its first wound isn't great, and also as hordelord mentioned the army really lacks any sought of theme at all.

NOt a standard Troll, they cost too much, a Troll Chieftain is better value.

x12 rangers of arnor

Halbarad
x10 warriors of the dead

warriors of the dead wouldn't listen to any other than isildur's heir. i know you have arathorn in there but would they follow halbarad with no captain of their own?

I don't like warriors of the dead with anyone except king of the dead or a converted captain of the dead.

Halbarad is Arnor, AotD are Fiefdoms, Halbarad cannnot lead AotD, 2 different lists.
