Sorry I didn't notice this before Dagorlad, it looks very good, very Dwarvish. I love watching other people making really complex LotR terraign that I would probably never even attempt, especially when it looks very good.

Promising work there, good luck 8)

re the original post. I love Markarth, its definately my favourite city in Skyrim. :D For further Skyrim Dwarvish inspiration, be sure to go to Blackreach. I've not been there myself yet (I restart too often, as in OCD often :( ) but I've heard its amazing. Its a massive underground city with numerous zones and entrances, so big that it makes other Dwarven cities look like Villages. There are some cool things there like a MASSIVE underground cavern (so big you could probably fit Solitude inside it), lit by giant glowing mushrooms.

You might also want to check out Lord of the Rings Online (which I happen to playing as I write this :) ). There are plenty of Dwarven cities and ruins throughout the game, though of course they're considerably less detailed than Skyrim and the level designs are large scale as is typical for MMOs but you might get some ideas and inspiration.

Thanks again lads. Yes, Blackreach is massive. I've been through it all and it spans almost the entire width of Skyrim itself - I entered it near the College of Magic and exited near Solitude. Mad!

LotR Online doesn't work on my PC - it dies when I try to exit the tutorial, so I gave up. But that's ok, thanks for the suggestion anyway. This board is initially going to be only 60cm x 60cm, but I'll add extra modules to it as the opportunity (and interest) permits.

(I have resurrected older threads before  )

Dagorlad how is your Dwarven city going?

I hereby promise that someday I will make my own city of Belegost based on the screenshot you provided. It is my dream project, and I have started finding terrain project more enjoyable that painting miniatures. First I need to resolve the practical considerations of space and transportation.

I'm sure it's going to be awesome when finished!
Now we're talking about skyrim; Whiterun made me think of Edoras. Tell me I'm not the only one :D
