These are awesome! The fact that another company had to do them in a limited run really makes clear how behind GW were. If they'd done a "Bilbo's Trolls" scenery set like the ruins one, I bet they could've sold a bundle of them!

I have textured the base and painting it with my "earthy" scheme, most of this will be covered though. Just need to tidy up the rocks a little and finish painting the tree stump the Troll on the right is sitting on then I'm ready to scenic the base with various grasses and clump foliage...

They are clothed!?! I wonder if The Hobbit is going to suffer continuity issues OR figure out a way to strip them just as they turn to stone . . .

Well, if the Trolls turn to stone their clothes don't necessarily. Over 60 or so years, the cloth could well have rotted away or been scavenged.

Yeah I thought that shortly after posting. Guess its for the best regardless not sure a naked Bert, William, or Tom fighting has much appeal,

Ok so here is Stage Seven... The tree stumped is painted and the base flock.

As it maybe a while until the piece is completely finished, as I'm waiting for some items to arrive that I purchased online, I have included several pics of Stage Seven here.
