Seriously though they are great models and a joy to paint. Just a shame they were taken out of production.

I've ordered ivy, weed clumps, different sizes of grass clumps and some "moss" for the backs of the trolls. It's comes in small clumps, not sure how it will look but going to give it a go...

I have finally finshed the "gardening" on my troll base. All the new scenic stuff I found on the internet is pretty cool especially the moss. Just waiting for the glue to dry and will post some photos of the finished product tomorro...

I'm pretty pleased with how it has turned out.

But have a look around the site if you haven't visited before. I know you have used Army Builder ivy before but the stuff theses guys sell is amazing.....

I certainly have - i supplied Ukfreddy with his too (theyre still boxed up in my hobby cupboard waiting for the next Ukfreddy postal run) Must say I can't wait to have a go painting them up and am truly inspired by the work that both yourself and Oldman Willow are doing with yours. I just need 5 mins free of commission paint jobs to make a start ... musn't complain

I also have the Thomarillion trolls stashed in a drawer (along with a lot of other oddments). I will get around to them sometime. I need to get some display cabinets built (as secure but visible storage) to free up some space. Or get a bigger house... It will be fun to see Thorin & Co. battling them in The Hobbit - you get a couple of glimpses in the trailer and some other sneak-peeks in PJ's video blogs.

I have finally finished the base for Bilbo's Trolls, I haven't overdone the ground cover as i still wish to move miniature amongst them when the peoce is on the gaming table,

Yes it's a real stone, given the old black, Codex Grey and Fortress Grey drybrush

I carved it out of high density polystyrene and coated it with textured paint....

The trees are Woodland Scenics and the flowers or weed bushes are from MiniNatur...
