As for ordering it...I saw the Limited Box on ebay, from an English supplier, which even with shipping would be 12 bucks cheaper than ordering it from GW in Canada.

Ah well, still aiming to get the boxed set (if not the limited edition) somewhere between now and the new year. I was tempted by the case, but the thing only carries a small amount of figures with the current foam configuration, so that's out.

I'm pretty grateful, in a way - means my little collector heart won't be wishing for things I don't need ;)

What's your secret? My little collector heart is drunk with desire. I need a therapist.

One part diversification: I picked up a bunch of Dungeons and Dragons miniatures to mess around with. (Also diverted some of my painting backlog to D&D. Easier to justify the time painting yet another horde of orcs when you know they'll see use next weekend mangling some adventurers)

One part logistics: I have sufficient figures and minis stuff that getting them from place to place is starting to look like a problem. Worse, I have a plastic drawer filled with figures which someone helpfully delivered over to me as a surprise. The transport broke a bunch of them. Fortunately they are all fixable, but it is a time commitment in the future.

One part boredom: I really-really want to get to a spot where I get figures because I kinda like the look of it and wouldn't mind painting it. This whole lark of trying to create encounter sets and armies and things I barely use is a bit oppressive. So I am enjoying my "lazy git" reflex! :D

Still, a vague part of me is bummed that there isn't a bunch of oh! my! god! figures that I! totally! have! to! have! with this release.

Montreal right now.
Almost moved to Toronto last spring.
Might end up in Vancouver again for a bit soonish (hence my concern about cases, transport and weight)

My order of Escape from Goblin Town has already shipped. Do you think I might receive it before Saturday?

Future wishlist: Beorn plus eagles and bears (and hedgehogs). What an awesome army that would make!

Mine says the same, but that probably means it has been assigned a tracking number and not actually handed to the FedEx truck.

You "yanks" must be getting it before us! Retailers here haven't even received their copies yet. Tomorrow onwards I'm expecting it as mine was the very third order at GW HQ this morning lol

Wow the prices just blows away all the excitement for this upcoming release as predicted. Not too crazy about some of the sculpts also, or maybe it's the poor paint jobs. Not going to be too into collecting this time around. I'll hold until liquidations. Sticking to my already huge backlog.

I am going to get rid of most of it. All I really want is the mini rulebook, gandalf, radagast, bilbo and a maybe gloin or balin. Most everything else will go to ebay or friends in my club.

I ordered the limited ed box set despite the ridiculous Australian prices. It's christmas after all! I am not buying anything else though until stuff filters through to ebay or online retailers who will post to Oz, and prices are cheaper. I've been spending most of my spare cash on other miniature lines that fit the LOTR theme but give me better value for money.

Those plastic dwarves for the most part look alright. I like Thorin's sculpt.

I have a tracking number and I think I realise why. I also ordered Black Spray Paint and so I think they have dispatched that separately.

Finally got my hands on latest White Dwarf. My 12-year-old non-gamer daughter's comments: "Why is Gandalf wearing glasses?" [front cover], "are those zombies?" [goblin pics] and "I think I could paint better than that!" [White Council].

I thought the whole mag was very good and even read the 40k and WF articles too. That freebie poster was very impressive - wish they'd do one for SBG.
