Pity I didn't know about that ebay stuff - woul've just picked up goblins, grinnah and scribe, then bought rulebook and other Goblin King variant later, but too late now.

What always bothers me about the mini next to Dwalin in that picis the fact that, in the movie, he has a kind of stiff beard, split at the end. This mini however, does not have that.

Why? They did a similar thing with Gothmog's deformed arm on the original Gothmog sculpt.

The dwarf archer in the pic is the same scale as dwalin and balin, but elfy is not.

I will be putting some Hobbit stuff on Ebay (the Dwarves - Thorin and Ori; Goblin King, Grinnah, Gandalf, Goblin Scribe and Radagast as well as the dice, rulebook and war sheets).

(Games Workshop accidentally sent me two sets so I got two EFGTs for the price of one.

What exactly is your point? Was this done in a battle or just a one on one? because battles are not usually conducted like that.

Sorry, did I cause some offence? Dragluin said he did some playtesting of one off Hobbit heroes against the goblin King and I was just saying that I did as well. I am aware of how battles are usually conducted. I don't actually have any friends who play so don't sit on my own playing 500 pt matches against myself so for a change I just thought I would try out the profiles and give it a go. Not everything has to have a point in life. If it did why bother with anything? We are all slowly dying anyway.

Just wanted to see how the profiles compare. Don't get your angle.

Yeah but the way it's sculpted is sort of a 'I didn't notice while sculpting' mistake. I still like the mini though.

Do a trading thread then and put up what you don't need. I'm a little iffy on whether I want to keep my Great Goblin or go for the FC one when it comes out. I think it will all depend on price; if it's (as I expect) $50-60 then I'll make do.

I agree on the Great Goblin, especially in your country, which for price's sake, I am glad i am not there.

DONT. It's the biggest piece of **** I have seen in a long time. Makes Twilight bask in glory... Peter Jackson did just about everything wrong. The overal style is a rediculous comic-like one, the book is ignored in every detail and prety much all major events. The amazing authenticity shown in the Lord of the Rings is nothing but a faint memory...

Yeah, my son wasn't too impressed by the trailers, they're pretty corny. But I'll probably go see it, and keep the book and the movie separated in my mind.

That sucks. Im still gonna see it ofcourse but i was also very happy with the amount of authenticiyt in the lord of the rings films. But i guess ill have to see first and judge later

Well, all my friends who are major LOTR geeks saw it and they said they'd go back even after a minute of leaving their seats at the theater, so I'm not all that confident in believing you, Ironfoot. I've heard many LOTR fans spiral in negativity about the LOTR films as well, back in the day, but that's because they couldn't seperate the films from the books. Something I too struggle with at times (elves at Helm's Deep, my god) but that doesn't make the movie any less good. This isn't meant to sound offensive or anything, but you should let people see for themselves. You know we're all gonna do it anyways.

I will reserve my judgement until after I've seen it, and who knows, I might end up agreeing with you. (I certainly hope not though!)

The Hobbit is supposed to be more of a lighter adventure story kind of like "Willow". I don't buy it, everything I have seen about the movie thus far looks great. And people shouldn't forget that PJ's films are artistic interpretations of the books and not 1:1 transitions of book to film.
