I have recently come across Lord of the Rings SBG and have been trying to make up my Rivendell army so I can then go buy all the minatures I need. This is an army to be used in 750 point battles.

Warband 1 12/12 -Elrond’s Guard
Elrond
3 High Elves with Elven Blades
9 High Elves with Shields and Spears
Warband 1 Total: 209

Warband 2 12/12 –The Twins
Elladan (Heavy Armor, Elven Bow, and Elven Cloak)
Elrohir (Heavy Armor, Elven Bow, and Elven Cloak)
1 High Elf with Elven Blade and Banner
4 High Elves with Elven Blades
6 High Elf with Shields and Spears
Warband 2 Total: 321

Warband 3 12/12 –Arwen’s guard
Arwen (Elven Cloak)
12 High Elves with Elven Bows
Warband 3 Total: 202

Grand Total: 732

If anyone could give me any advice if anything needs changing then it would be much appreciated. I also have a few points to spare, if someone could suggest what I could do with them it would be good.

Afraid I can't help with advice for the above, though a little heads up in advance, the mods and admins are the forum will likely suggest you remove the specific points for units as it can get the forum into trouble!

Twins will be 300% more effective if mounted. It will cost a fair but but dear lord you won't regret it. I'm not a huge fan of banners but I guess that elves sorta need them. Considering rivendell knights and mounted elrond are on the way, be prepared to be op!

You could also consider swapping Arwen for Gildor Inglorion and the Elf warriors with bows for Noldorin Exiles.

Or just replacing arwen for a captain

Thanks for all your replies, it is much appreciated. I think what I am going to do is switch Arwen for a Captain and then wait for the Rivendell Knights and work some Cavalry into my army. I am, however strongly considering mounting the twins.

Why is Arwen being swapped? A captain isn't necessarily better than her, especially when you already have the twins mounted to murder everyone!

Agreed, though with the new profiles in the Hobbit rules, she should be swapped for Lindir...makes Elrond a Nature's Wrath and Renewing machine.

@CheatsGlitch: as a standard high elf infantry force that's pretty good. The only thing I'd be iffy on is Elrond himself (until 1000 points), you can get a Stormcaller and a whole warband for his cost, and the Stormcaller could boost Arwen's Will. Mounting the Twins is a good idea, but with no other cavalry around that does kind of make them an easier target for archery.

Yeah, I figured I would wait until the Rivendell Cavalry came out before I mounted the twins. Is Lindir coming out in February with the Cavalry? Also, I am 100% sure this is a noob question, what is a Stormcaller? I searched it on Games Workshop and nothing came up so I think I'm missing something.

The High Elf Stormcaller is the same model, just slightly different powers.
