I really like the earth tone you have on your bases, mind if I ask how you do them?

Also, fantastic models. I love those knights, and it's really nice to see a troll that matches the colour of the ones in the movie.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I'm just finishing off the first 10 Black Numenoreans at the moment and will put the photos up at the weekend as well as the finished Ent from Amy (he's looking great). Also currently helping Amy construct another Ent at the moment so they'll be some wip of that too.

Of course not, I use watered down Vajello Charred Brown over a black base coat then a heavy drybrush of Snakebite Leather and then finally a drybrush of Bleached Bone. Sometimes I find the bone colour lightens the base too much in which case I create a wash using the Charred Brown (slightly thinner than the old GW washes) and brush a light layer over the whole base which seems to do the trick.

Update time! First up a couple of completions from Amy and a new work in progress:

Next up are my w.i.p. from this week and then the end result. Due to cost issue and the fact they are now Finecast I've had to be creative with my Black Numenoreans but hope over time I can sub out some of the miniatures with Castellans of Dol Guldur or something new that might come with the Hobbit films:

And now the finished article (just 22 more to go!):

Well just as I'm coming to the end of this force (just 12 Black Numenoreans and then the character models left) I've gone and expanded it with some outstanding models that I just couldn't resist, Fallen Dwarves!
These fellas are in scale with LOTR miniatures and are supposed to depict Dwarves from the East that have fallen under the sway of Sauron.

As well as these there's something else rather special in the works which will be the center piece of the entire force :sauron:

The Ent is the Weeping Willow from Majestic Bear and he's coming along nicely now.

I looked at it, and then at the MBM ents, as the face looked like one of UKFB's works; but without the branches I totally ignored the posibility of it being the willow!

Just a quick post to say the Fallen Dwarves arrived today and they are incredible, brilliant sculpts and very little to clean up. I'll try and grab a snap of them tonight to put up.

The Dwarves are from Miniatures of the North http://miniaturesofthenorth.com through Anvil Industries http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=98_101.
I really couldn't recommend them enough and they come at a really good price, especially if you buy in bulk (which of course I did

)
