Bought a new set of 24 dwarves from GW. I then went to butcher my old dwarves for spare shields, extra axes and ore or two swords from other Lotr sets.
Spent a few hours of drilling, cutting and filing the plastics to convert them.

These are some awesome conversions! I love the arrows just missing the dwarves or being stopped by their shields, can relate to that in SO many games! Will be keeping an eye out for more posts on this thread!

Thanks! Got 12 more dwarves to clean up and fix to bases. I will add broken shields and arrows to their bases. I got the battle of Azanulbizar in mind :)

Nice work. Never much liked the models but thought they'd make a good base for conversions. Keep it up

I love the conversions in your firs post in this WiP, partly at lesat because you have abandoned GW's original motto of all Dwarf weapons must be axes by inculidng swords and hammers too. Good on you. They're really well exceuted as well :yay:

Almost finished. Mostly bases left right now. Have not been painting them in uniformed fashion instead I've thinked of them as individuals with their own personally style as the dwarves in The Hobbit.

I'm impressed! I especially like the red beards and the fantastic wooden look on the shields! The freehand runes are a wonderful finishing touch!

Lovely painting! I like how each is unique.

I wish I had some spare Dwarves, because mate you have inspired me. I will certainly try the painting some of their shields the way you have. Your Balin brings me back to the time I bought my Khazads+Balin boxset. I will paint the same embroidered pattern on his cloak when I repaint mine.

Lol that means I'll be "borrowing" two of your ideas.

So this is what you have been up to, noticed you hadn't posted images on WG forum for a while.

Great stuff, as always! Imaginative and exciting!
