Long time since I've had any update, so today I thought I might add some pictures to this thread.
For this month's painting competition I painted this Gil-Galad:

And because I had some High elven warriors lying around, I thought I might as well paint those in the same colour scheme. So here they are:

And I also painted a toy figure to represent Morgoth (or Sauron, if necessary). I think he turned out pretty well:

Comments would be very much appreciated! :-D
Cheers

I would say that's a perfect match, well sourced and the painting is wonderful.

It was a Papo toy figure, and it looked like this: Image

Amazing - I see some other possibilities in that range:

The style is compatible with Middle-earth once you give them a good paint scheme and they are colossally big figures - suitable for Morgoth or Sauron.

You could always make a Grond and substitute it for the big mad-looking axe - maybe even build the Grond around the stub of the axe?

Thank you! For the High Elves I used:
Cloaks:
Layer 1: Mix of Dawnstone and Ceramite White
Layer 2: More Ceramite White to the mix
Layer 3: Ceramite White
Gil-Galad has another layer between those, so he has four layers up to white.
Red fabric:
Layer 1: Mix of Abaddon black and Mechrite Red
Layer 2: Mechrite Red
Layer 3: Mephiston Red
Armour:
Layer: Boltgun Metal
Wash: Agrax Earthshade
Highlights: Mithril Silver

I hope that's helpful. Some of the colours named are old colours of which I still have a bottle left, but I'm sure you can figure out which old colour is which new one. :)

Thanks man! I'm going to start a new army soon and I think I will take high elves in this colour scheme.

Today I painted this 1980s Citadel Gollum miniature, I think he turned out quite well.

Other than that, it's pretty cool.
Good job painting him especially the eyes.
