I say 00.15 is when they'll be up.

"Kill....me..."

Are they having a laugh?

EDIT: There's also a photoshop edit in the bottom left pane of the four-pane detail view of Beorn. Amazing sculpt though.

So… legolas and tauriel are in fact, finecast. Disappointed!

From the new White Dwarf:

The 3-part scenario in the book is the battle of Dimril Dale

The new book contains "rules and scenarios for games set in Mirkwood, full rules for all of the new miniatures from the movie" [italics mine]

Sounds promising!

That Legolas.....has to be the worst sculpt / paint job I've ever seen... even when looking in my own cabinet... cross-eyed and total carp....

Could the book have not at least been hardback for the money?

What's with the spiky Mirkwood Rangers.... Dark Eldar Wych's in disguise...horrid...

Lots of money saved then.....

I think they have a few issues, the description says plastic and captains description says resin but no finecast icon.

Anyone else notice Bolg is now Gundabad Orc General?

Good to see that there are 8 DoS scenarios plus new points scenarios in the book.

@Dr Grant, is there enough Hobbit content to make it worth getting White Dwarf?

Throwing out quick fire second glance opinions, might take several posts!

Spiders look much much better with second look. I was worried from the leaked images that they might be a bit flat. £11 each effectively (at full GW price) isn't bad for two monsters, especially considering they are finecast. I know people wanted them to be plastic, but looking forward to unboxing these after all'

^This, I too noticed this sculpt in particular.

I will definitely be picking up Beorn, but as for the rest of them...despite being great sculpts, i'm going to have to vote with my wallet and either skip them or pick them up elsewhere for cheaper.

No no no this isn't happening, this pretty much confirms that Bolg is getting a new design. What a shame!

More positivity, £15 for two captain models (£7.50 each) for Palace Guard Captains and Mirkwood Ranger captains also seems great value for pretty decent sculpts :)

Beorn will be mine. Love it. £15 full price, less than that from a LGS. All day long. And the sourcebook!

Whilst divisive, it can't be denied that the sculpts are impressive for many of these new models! Whether the 'look' appeals to everyone is more an issue to take with the film than the model making company.

I think we've got lots to be happy about! Yup, the warriors boxes are an expensive jump up, but same as a new 40k space marine box of 10 so it's consistent (shouldn't feel too hard done by) and they look like fab models!

Positivity is infectious and this is a big big and very well done first release. Makes me excited for the next few months :) just my opinions!

Hit and miss…but mostly hit for me. I really like the kneeling ranger (as jmh_stirling posted above). Some of the other ranger poses have their backs too arched, looks like they're stretching after a yoga session.

Didn't notice the "leaping Bilbo" before, but that has to be my favourite Bilbo model yet.

One thing I noticed is the heavy reliance on pin striping on the cloth and shields…I don't think that's part of the model, so it's definitely beyond my capabilities, not sure what I'll do.

Also noticed most of the models are "resin"…is that another word for finecast or are they switching to a new material?

Just a fyi for those that forget, but there was a lot of complaining during the last release about not liking the looks of the figures (Mostly the mal-formed goblins, and the hunter orcs). And now, everyone's okay with it, or at least it's not a huge thing any more.

While I do love all these sculpts, I don't think this is a fair comparison. A space marine is literally about twice the size of a LotR mode, not to mention it being a multi-part plastic kit with a load of options.

I'm extremely happy they decided to release DoS as a sourcebook rather than another huge book, but with the recent release of all the profiles from AUJ for free on the GW website, it leaves me wondering what else is in the Big AUJ Book? Just modelling and hobby stuff? Is it any good? If there's only going to be one big book for three films I can perhaps justify the price tag!
