Good painting all around, but indeed... Barbar's definitely got it.

A bit of a toss up for me between barbar's Orcs and Crixalis's Goblins. On one hand, barbar's Orcs are really flavourful, and make not only a great warband, but an excellent display piece as well. On the other, Crixalis's Goblins are my favourite rendition of the models, and make me want to go out and buy a box of them.

To that end, I won't say where my vote has gone. I feel a bit mean to openly like one more than the other.

I'd also like to commend Aranel on his Elves, which I think are totally fantastic, and make me think about Gildor's party as it appeared in the books (minus Elrond's sprogs of course) :)

Finally to Alatar of Rhun for the excellent freehand on Imrahil's horse's cover. Well done all around!

An incredibly close decision - there are so many really outstanding entriess and the standard of the photos is very good too so we can get a really close look at them. Well done guys!

For me this is a REALLY tight pack of great entries, with one clear leader out in front. Barbar for me. Outstanding bit of work.

There is no doubting Barbars work but for me this is more a diorama than a warband as you wouldn't put them into battle with two tied up with a captive.
Dr Grant it is for me, some very good detailed work than stands the test of extreme close ups, not many can live up to that level for me.
The general level is phenomenally high and all should be proud of what they have done.

Barbra's is the standout for me. I like madon's warriors but the paint on Boromir(?) seemed a little lumpy.

I voted for Dr Grant, great paint scheme that is well executed with the details.
Also really like Aranel7773's. I wish they had been more close-up so I could better analyze them.

A more than tough choice once more. In the end it's Alatar for me :)
Whereas Barbars work looks nice, I share concerns with Gandlaf..

Aranel definitely deserves an honourable mention. Better pictures would (I guess) emphasise the quality of the paintwork though.

But as i said earlier- a great field full of super entries. Literally not a single one I think is "iffy". Congrats to all.

True, however, if he submitted the six orcs who aren't holding a naked lady, nobody would suggest that it was in any way ineligible. Therefore, if you consider the extra as a "display board" for the war band I think he deserves a heap of credit for just going that extra mile further than everyone else.

That'd be true even if the quality of painting wasn't great (which it is).

My warband doesn't really count they are not finished. I was joking in the last forum about them being finished. Oh well at least they still look Ok.

Excellent work guys!
Honorable mentions for the wood elves, Dol Amroth and Boromir who had a great alternate colour scheme, just wasn't done justice by the photos.

Tricky decision, but voted Barbar in the end, the realism in what looks like bruising on Arwen is particularly impressive.

Put some better pics of my goblins in my WIP if theres any interest ;)
