Who are you looking forward to use after seeing the movie

SPOILERS :shock:

For me personally the hunter orcs seem a lot cooler in this one even though they get slaughtered by the elves. I loved how they sneak into laketown and started causing chaos. It was a shame that fimbul died (funny though) but I was impressed Bolg gave Legolas a bloody nose. I'm sure we will probably get a new mini for Bolg, hopefully they will give us new rules though!
It would be nice if we get a new Thorin's company in their laketown armour too they looked really good.

What about everyone else, who are you looking forward to using on the tabletop?

I think Bolg, Girion and Smaug were the only ones we haven't seen in mini form yet, as well as the company in their new clobber. Personally I'm interested in potential scenarios more than anything else, Dol Guldur especially. A flaming necromancer would be cool. I'm imagining the conversion potential between the old necromancer and sauron models if they don't make one.

I am looking forward to using pretty much everything. A lot of the rules from both rule books (especially AUJ) now make a lot of sense. I don't think bolg will get a new profile, maybe they'll FAQ in his options he has access to in the movie.

I don' think we'll see the company is laketown armour just because they literally only wear it for like 30 seconds. I would love a laketown armoured bilbo tho :lol:

I like Girion but he seems really overpriced in the rules. Maybe if they give us one of those Bolt throwers, I can't remember what they called them in the film. Sky Lances or something.

Definetely some form of the necromancer. PJ did a fantastic job with him. I agree with Gene, maybe a flame/shadowy Sauron. Designing a model made of only shadow may he a bit tough.

I'd love a new Bolg. I'm interested to see if they work a new profile - maybe in TABA. I like his Morgul poison on the arrows - perhaps a Morgul Blade, except one that can be fired, rather than used in a fight.

Also looking forward to the Laketowners. Probably going to be pricey to buy, considering we'll need a fair few of them, but should be an interesting 'good' army to play.

Also Beorn. I'm holding off on the mini till the bear comes out, but he'll be worming his way into battles he has no right to be part of, mark my words. Giant bear holding the gate at Helms Deep? Sounds great! It's a brilliant ploy on behalf of Theoden. "Is this all you can conjure, Saruman? Unleash the bear!"

I really, really hope there'll be a Smaug - even at mumak scale he'd be imposing and powerful. Might even get two - and spray paint one gold.

. I've been looking at toy dragons, but they all require way too much work. As the conversion and greenstuff work that any given project requires rises, so to does the probability of me ballsing it up approach 1. :rofl

Edit: How about some sort of burning representation of Sauron's last alliance model? Basically the same thing, but with loads of fire and smoke detail around the edges, to give it the eye effect.

I prefer to collect and paint the villains, but I have to say when I was watching Desolation of Smaug I immediately fell in love with Tauriel so she will definitively be a next addition for me.

Did anyone notice the spider Bilbo was fighting to get the ring back, it was different to the others. Bigger and more powerful with a different shaped mouth. Hope GW release that!

That was a trap-door spider, it was very accurate to the real thing.

I'm thinking Tauriel's special for bonus attacks should be given to Bombur instead after seeing his DOMINATION in the BOB scene (or as i refer to his actions as the "pin-ball" scene lol)

Option for Bombur: Barrel 100pts. Once per game Bombur may roll around in his barrel. He immediately moves 12in in any direction. Anyone hit by Bombur takes a str 5 hit and is knocked to the ground. After this move, Bombur gains 3 defence and 3 attacks on the next turn.
