Forgeworld to produce LOTR/Hobbit miniatures and terrain?

I feel confident that Forgeworld would make a truly awesome Smaug. However, I probably wouldn't buy it if it was over £100. I think the chances of it being under £100 are close to zero.

But yes, Forgeworld prices are based on the need for a high margin, based on very low (but high quality) production runs.

If Forge World make stuff, the quality will be fantastic, but so will the price and practically no one will ever see any of it!

Also I see no reason why they OOP their stuff like Weathertop and some excellent fantasy battle (realistic looking) buildings.

I wouldn't always call the forge world stuff high quality as the larger kits do need a lot of work to make them fit correctly, but I would still be interested in some LOTR stuff from them. I would love to get the weather top model one day.

Unfortunately not! It was £250 when it came out 10 years ago. Which really was a great deal for a GW product then!

I have a Weathertop, as do several others on this board. It is great quality! I would definitely buy other Forge World products! WOULD LOVE A SMAUG.

I recently visited Dusseldorf, and obviously found the GW there. It dwarfed (pardon the pun) my local GW stores, and seemed to have plenty of folk in and a couple of LotR tables.

Didn't look like they were winding down to me.

If you read a little further in the translation it says management in Germany will be shut down and control of the stores transferred to the UK. Possible bad news for US and France's management too.
There are all kinds of rumors about WFB I am sure there will be major changes.There will be changes involving Fine Cast but how soon and how much?
The rumor is there will be an announcement in March.

That was actually an earlier rumor. The part that I was reporting on came chronologically after the one saying that it was just the management that's being shut down. I was only talking about the more recent of the two rumors.

I was not clear. Part of the comment was directed at some one that called BS. But that illustrates the point. The new rumor based on the old rumor is probably less accurate. But it is still a rumor. More "the sky is falling".Maybe we will find out something useful soon.
