Hi, I've been trying for some time to come to a perfect Dol Guldur list. Theme is very important for me btw I am mixing book theme, film theme and convoluted GW theme. I have used Mordor, Angmar, Azog's Hunters & Dark Denizens of Mirkwood and have currently settled on:

I know that Castellans, mounted Hunter Orcs, Mirkwood spiders and the Necromancer are all overcosted by the way.

To take the list up to 4000pts,

Give 1 Orc w/ banner & shield to each Ringwraith Warband.
Put 12 Orc Trackers in the Undying's Warband
Add in a new Warband with a Taskmaster leading 6/6 Orc Warriors
Add a 3rd Castellan of Dol Guldur
Add a Warband with a Black guard Captain leading 6 Black Guards & 6 Morannon Orc spearmen
Add a Warband with Druzhag, 2 Bat Swarms, 1 Dweller & 6 Giant Spiders
Get a 2nd Gundabad Orc Captain to lead one of the Gundabad Warbands and give Bolg 12 vanilla Hunter Orcs.

Thanks for help. Also, never tell me to drop Wargs, they are my only puppies since GW wouldn't release any Werewolves.

I think you should drop the Wargs. Joking of course. As you've made Azog's warg female I believe that explains the foul temperament. With as old as Azog is I assume she's past child bearing age and has the mood swings associated with it?

But in all seriousness it's a solid list. You literally have EVERYTHING covered. Good spell casters, strong monsters, hordes of troops. Able-bodied commanders such as Bolg and Azog. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps dropping one castellan and adding an Orc captain on warg and some regular warg riders to boost your cav options. Also 2 orc shamen to give fury to ALL the Orcs, including the hunter orcs and Azog/Bolg would be well worth it IMO.

As to facing Galanur's list my money is on the Evil (because of the potency of such magic and monsters and Fury should he take that advice)

magic is almost matched against the white council you know.... since I get a free dice to resist spells..
Of course its not easy to fight the necromancer but keep in mind I can get use of 3 nature wrath a turn, 3 aura´s of command 2 of dismay and a few moe bubbling spells to my side :P
About monsters he got spider queen and 2 mordor trolls... its really not that troublesome since the good side list holds 10 magic casters...
If he wanna face the council he will need far more nazguls to match magic

I just have never been that impressed by good's magic. Not offensively potent enough, sure it can be effective but compared to a channeled black dart or chill soul it leaves something to be desired lol. It'll be a good slug fest at that points cost that's for sure

Have you considered taking taskmasters? I have seen a lot of lists with them used to support the Necromancer by allowing him to repeatedly channel chill soul. Nice to see castellans - for some reason I never see people take them, which is a shame. They have such good models.

Also, on the subject of good v.s. evil magic, I don't thank black dart is that good much of the time. Not only is it difficult to cast you could easily waste it by poor rolling to wound. And then the channelled version could just end up with one wound after all that. A sap will followed by transfix, channelled or not and a mob of orcs just seems so much more effective. Not to say that you cant do powerful things with it - sniping horses or banners, or as a finishing move - just that you cant just knock down everything with it. Nature's wrath on the other hand is guaranteed to mess up an entire battle line if it goes unresisted, and will likely kill at least a few guys if channelled.

In general, good magic is contained in powerful but expensive heroes who can keep going - wizards, relaxed Galadriel, Elrond and his glorified secretary - while evil has cheaper, weaker spellcasters, like shamans and ringwraiths, who run out of use when they run out of will.

yea his problem is that he dont have enough magic to make impact on it to fight a white council for example...
This list I made simply has 2 many aoe spells that affect in general, and also fear factors tthat unlike evil harbingers, this 1s will affect evil models infantry way more than what you expect... orcs with courage 2 or courage 3 near galadriel and a couple of wizards (droping to courage 1s and 2s) is almost guaranteed you wont do nothing and they just sit there and watch...
Spiders with courage 2, orcs with courage 2, (turning to 1) good luck even charging good models with Aoe fear bomb of thranduil, cirdan and passive ability of Galadriel...
want better? a good portion of good heroes are even good to back up will points, sure he got 4 models that can cast will drains... but how many can you drain effectively without getting wizards and stormcallers to bump will points up?

He has to get more nazguls, its very very important at this game scale magnitude...

For the 3000pt army, I will swap one Castellan for an Orc Shaman, downgrading the other into a regular Mordor Orc Shaman, maybe splitting the Orcs around more too, though its not necessary since statistically speaking he's bound to end up near some Orcs. I may also swap out Yazneg's Warband for regular warg riders.

I can't fit bats into 3000pt list as it requires a Moria hero

Re: Taskamster in 3000pts. well I'm not dropping Shaman, Wraith or the Shade, and Taskmasters can't lead Hunter Orcs so I'd just have to survive without it, or be really cheeky, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: the 4000 point list, it would more likely be 4500pts actually, enough space, to give the 2nd Shaman charge of the Taskmaster's current Warband, put the Taskmaster in charge of Black Guards, keep both sets of mtd Orcs nad the Warg Riders too, a Warband of Orcs led by the Dwimmerlaik and then...

Could Sauron have a pet Cave Drake in Dol Guldur? If so then the 4000pt list is done too, if not than maybe a troll chieftain & orcs. It's a pity you can't take 2 Spider Queens.

Re: Galanur's White Council & Mirkwood list. It is a very powerful looking list, with the magic an' all. Just not sure if its too hero heavy for the warriors to be worth it. Still, it is more pts efficient I think, I do wish my opponants would stick to actual theme. Last time I fought against an alliance of Mirkwood Elves & Harad led by the KoU.

PS: I wouldn't recommend Black Dart actually, but Chill Soul yes. Not sure why it always needs to be channelled though. Unchannelled Chill Soul is probably potent enough.

Spider queen is an indie hero. She can only lead fell wargs and mirkwood spiders under the denizens of mirkwood list.

if he goes with moria spider queen then he wont... he just need to field fell wargs elsewhere

If you take the Spider Queen in the Moria list she is an independent hero and cannot lead warriors.

If you take the Spider Queen in the Mordor list she is an independent hero and cannot lead warriors.

If you take the Spider Queen in the Dark Denizens of Mirkwood list she can lead warriors.
