DoS blu-ray limited edition with Erebor statues

Cool - it seems that there will be a limited edition Desolation of Smaug release with the Erebor guard statues - just what I need for the Erebor terrain! Expected release date in the US April 8th, hopefully also in Europe at around the same time.

Nice find though the price tag seems a bit expensive. I will see what the UK version is priced at.

Damn it, now I have to buy the movie twice. Once for the statues and once for the extended edition when it comes out 6 months later.

There was a Limited edition for the extended version of AUJ, with a statue of Gollum and Bilbo:

I'd expect the price of of the DoS with statues in the UK to be in the range of 55-60 GBP, but let's see... I'm just hoping this is not a Target exclusive, but would be available also elsewhere.

Yikes I didn't even spend that much for the extended edition blue rays of Lord of the Rings :shock:

Of course I guess because this is new, means it has to be expensive I suppose. :roll:

...and there is a reference of the Collector's Edition release dates in the UK, USA, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Australia and Brazil. In fact, the release in the UK is a day before in the USA. Noted, of course, is the lack of any Nordic countries in the list, but I'm happy if just the UK Amazon carries this.

Well those would definitely make some awesome terrain pieces for Erebor but the price tag is outrageous. I hate that when things are popular they are overpriced for no conceivable reason. Oh well.

Ok. I will watch out for it. Like hens teeth... only 25000 for the US. That probably means about 5000 for the UK if the same print ratio applies

Didn't they do this with the LOTR triology with a mini minas tirith and the argonath? I don't know if they did one as well for TTT?

But the LotR ones at least came with the Extended Edition of the films. Even AUJ statue release was with the EE ( wasn't it?...I didn't bother getting the statue for that one). I thought I saw a pre-order of the EE DOS with these statues posted somewhere and that at least would make sense to me. I can't imagine paying so much for the theatrical just to get the statues and then turn around and have to shell out again for the EE.

Yep, with LOTR it was the Extended Editions, that came with the bonus statues. However, with The Hobbit - DOS the statues come with the theatrical edition, whatever reason that may have:
