So im looking at doing up a 500pts Hobbit Army for a local GW tournament in the middle of the year, though had to be under 55 models

Trying to keep the theme as the hobbits with Gandalf leading them what do you think??

Also how would I go against missions like -

- Lords of Battle
- To the Death

You're gonna get your hairy feet whupped at Lords of Battle. Domination is in your favor. Reconnoiter is odd cause you have a slow march but a thick battle line. Otherwise looks pretty good.

Well if you are trying to keep a shire hobbit theme as much as possible then have you considered Gandalf in his cart! I don't know the rules or points for it but if you want theme that is one of the best models for it!

I have I have but its an extra 15pts over the horse.

which for any other army wouldnt mean much but for hobbits thats an extra 5 models lol.

its mostly a few extra wounds and 1 higher defence

honestly i would consider swapping gandalf on horse for aragorn with armour from the fellowship. in my experience, gandalf is used to give an easier time to your heroes taking down enemy ones. since your list doesn't have any good heroes gandalf will be almost useless. on the other hand aragorn will add that extra punch your army needs and the extra might will really help (heroic marching in reconoitre). plus he also fits the theme just as well.
