Discontinued products or am I going crazy?

Is it just me or is GamesWorkshop not offering a captain with a banner? It seems like they were selling one for $15. To buy a unnamed captain I would have to buy the leadership package...for $40.00. I would rather not do that.

Guess thats what happens when you leave the hobby for a bit.

Yup. I left for 5 years. Needless to say I was shocked at everything that has developed.

Go to eBay. You'll find a lot of nice stuff there.

I have already started looking there and it seems everyone wants what they paid for the models in the first place.

Happiness is finding a box of models with 24 troops instead of 12 that didn't sell at your local hobby shop.

It depends on which command set you want. Rohan command sets I don't see often. Mordor, isengard and Easterlings I see plenty of. Elves not so much but a good amount for gondor.

You have to look more man. You won't always find what you want but you can get some other good stuff for cheap and trade or something.

Yeah, those 4-pack command sets were really released in support of the broken and now-defunct War of The Ring game GW had going for a few years. It didn't really do much. I rarely use war horns or anything of that sort.

Recently saw a box of Uruk-Hai Scouts in a local hobby shop that someone had dropped under the shelving unit it was meant to be displayed on. Reduced to £9 for 24 miniatures, compared with the display box on the shelf which was £15 for 12. Moments like that are so pleasing and rare they almost deserve a meme... :pray:
