January releases are now up, the second wave of releases. 4 kits, no real coverage... meh.

Nope. Everything's now released weekly instead of monthly and the release list for each week gets leaked the Monday before. This Saturday's stuff has been leaked and there's no Hobbit releases. The wait goes on.

Where do you get this weekly release list from?

No one place in particular, just browsing the normal rumour forums and the screen-grab always turns up on a Monday evening. My guess is that that's when the independent resellers get sent the information and one of them leaks it, I could be wrong though.

Nothing again for the 8th hmm? I must admit I'm getting ahead of myself as I have hundred of models to paint and I need to set myself a cap for total army size. New stuff may not be the answer...

You guys are better Necromancers than Sauron.

Sorry, I've been waiting to use that pun for a while, lol.

I must say though, GW have been taking their time with the new Hobbit releases. There is the possibility that they'll drag it on until almost the next film, although I don't see much sense in that.

Or at least until the BluRay release in April.

That would actually be a very logical release window.

It sort of makes a lot more sense if you assume there's probably a lot of various minis to be had from the big climactic battle sequences, rather than the filler sequences from the middle film.

I am a bit unsure what's missing from the current film range, beyond the dragon and maybe those other finecast dwarves. More spiders?

What about Girion? Or is that more likely to be a post films release? If they happen at all...

Yeah, a pretty basic and unexciting one, but a profile non-the-less

It's only exciting if you are facing bat swarms, dragons, fell beasts or eagles.

Next releases are Chaos and then an Imperial Guard preorder the 29th March, releasing the 5th April. Lets hope for some Hobbit stuff the week after that!

Girion is SERIOUSLY meh!
But why is bard an Aragorn style stat line?

I'm still adament the whole hobbit film/releases/rules are incredibly badly handled.

Rambling over!

Because he kills Smaug.
