Rohan 800 pts

So i will be laying against a friend that has chosen mordor. i have chosen rohan as it is my favourite army.

Eomer, knight of pelenor
-armored horse
-7 westfall redshields
-2 sons of eorl
-warrior or rohan
-with banner

Erkenbrand
-4 rohan royal guards
-4 throwing spears
-8 outriders

kings huntsman

Grimbold
-12 Helmingas with shields

Gwaihir

=37 models
9 bows + 4 throwing
5 heroes + 11 might

i am open to any suggestions to improve the list

I guess my main concern would be your infantry detachment. Relatively small number of them as Rohan infantry are anything but powerful. And to be honest I think you have too many cavalry per hero, simply from an effective movement perspective. You won't be able to react as well to enemy movements and losses of priority as some cavalry will inevitably be outside of heroic (move, shoot, etc) range.

If you use heavy infanty, like Helmingas you must support it, otherwise they will just get outnumbered. Gwaihir is a great model but you already have fast killing power. Kings huntsman does not help increasing your numbers also as being a solo hero.

If you could tell us which army you are playing against, people can be more specific here

I said in the begin it will be against mordor, thats all i know sadly

and as far as i know he doesnt have moranon or black guard, most likely he will have a core army of orcs.

My only bet picking this army was to move gwaihir to 1 flank and keep hurling his supports, leaving a good part of his army 1v1.
Cavalry to move from the rear and also harassing his support aswell.
And for last outriders shooting from the opposite flank as gwaihir and once they have nothing to shoot at charge them aswell.

i wish rohirim had any kind of spears to support, then i would be more focused on numbers but i made this army to only outmaneuver and outshoot him, thats my only bet

At 800 points with the core of his army consisting of orcs, he will field much more models than you.
I doubt Gwaihir will be able to cover that (never played him so I don't really know, just a guess.)

As others already said, there's too many cavalry units per hero.
Try 6 to 8 models per hero.

I'd replace Gwaihir. Maybe take a generic captain or Eowyn with some more warriors, otherwise your infantry will get swarmed and your army will be breaking pretty fast.
