Cruel April fools joke? Or genuine? Hope not otherwise it will be an even longer wait for BOFA ...
The film was already pushed back from July 2014 ..

Although this is probably an April Fools joke, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. At the beginning of March, Phillipa Boyens gave an interview in which she stated that PJ was nowhere near completing the first cut of There and Back Again, to the extent that there was not even any sort of footage ready to preview or create a trailer from. I forget where I read this, but I definitely did. I know there's still eight months or so to go before it needs to be finished, but if it's nowhere near finished then how long is PJ going to take. If Boyens' claim is true, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a delay in TABA being released on time.

If it's true, I hope I can get some tickets! That would be so amazing to see with all the other nerds at Comic Con!

In this supposed release they say that the movie is not delayed at all production wise, which would get rid of the Boyens angle. Keying on that bit of info it makes no sense to wait to release the movie that long if it's ready to go. Also, there seems to be no other sites picking up this 'news', so April fools joke is my bet. Also, they would have put something in the title if it wasn't an April fools joke.

I always thought they premiered in New Zealand, we all know PJ is a big Comic Con fan,also the Christmas release is a good money earner with a DVD release at Easter, IMO its an April Fool.

Nope, I think from memory only 1/3 for LOTR actually had the world premiere in New Zealand.

I think it is the same for the hobbit, only 1/3.

My memory has proven pretty rubbish of late though. Too lazy to google check.
