fighting with pikes

I am little confused about pikes and how they fight so here is my question witch is about direct fights and not supporting allies.

If a pike armed model (except easterlings) fights directly an enemy (not supporting an ally) his pike counts as a two handed weapon as normal?
and if the model also has a 1 handed weapon in his equipment he can fight like normal with the 1 handed weapon or he is forced to fight with his pike?

His pike counts as a normal weapon. It only takes up both hands when considering what he can be equipped with

Pikes never count as two handed weapons. A pikeman will fight as normal if they are in base contact with an enemy.

In the rulebook it states that it needs to two hands thats why i was confused, so thank you both very much

Doesn't really matter though, since every model, including pikemen, have a hand weapon, unless the profile specifically says they're unarmed (and there are no pikemen so hindered).
