The Weathertop model is absolutely epic!!! My own plans are now Kaput, back to the drawing board.

What about this tactic for the felowship:
The Hobbits stay in the circle of the tall models protecting them Gandalf blast as many wargs down as he could, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Boromir each try to charge two wargs and Gandalf take another (blastet) warg himself. If they win a battle they don't try to slay the wargs, if they loose the wargs aren't able to slay and the next turn Aragorn calls a heroic move and Gandalf tries to blast the wargs, who won their fight. Of cause it won't work all the time but you have a good chance to fight at at least some wargs who are blastet to the ground.

Yes you may have a point...

The difficulties found were that, the pocket held for the most part if the heroes won all their fights, but problems occured if they lost, and once forced to move sideways an inch, and the wargs then won priority they were through the gap and at the hobbits... but yes I guess Aragorns free might each turn to call heroic move could have minimised this... Relying on Gandalf to sorcerous blast is a not so easy with the 5+ casting roll...but agree it could have helped when it worked...

Great report & terrain! Fully competitive playing of a scenarios is, indeed, ill-suited for the spirit of the campaign. Sometimes playing feels like trying to find the fine balance between too easy and deadly, so that the games would be challenging but not insurmountable in the long run.

Many Thanks Celevue :-)

Yes I couldn't agree more, there is certainly a careful balance required to get the movie events to play out as desired!

I think if I had eaten half the Fellowship with the Watcher, I may have had a sulky young man to deal with ! ;-)

Oh and thanks again for your inspiration to up my game with terrain creation - its been most fun!
