what's coming, new rulebook ,free online rules? srcBooks OOP

HI everyone,

Just when I thought about buying the nesc. sourcebooks it seems that the free peoples sourcebook is no longer available from GW-online ( I can find them second hand though).

If they dont produce them anymore, what does the future hold ?
A new book covering ALL profiles of LOTR and the Hobbit ? or will they publish it online for free. I can hope for it..

But I do not feel like this is good, unless they mistook it for temporarily out of stock...

We will probably get a sourcebook for bofa and *maybe* one final ultimate edition book with all the profiles. From there the game will slowly vanish from gw's website and it will be up to the community to keep the game alive.

Correct.
Perhaps a starter set for BoFA aswell depending on sales.

But yeh we hope for an 'ultimate edition' rulebook, but it's unlikely.
There are plenty of Free People's Sourcebooks going. They're on Ebay all the time, and pretty much every GW I've been in has about 4 copies on the shelves.

3 of the 5 Sourcebooks in Australia are no longer stocked online or on the shelves. I've been told they are going to re do them or combine them together. Either way this won't happen till after the next movie has been released. An ultimate rulebook or combination of the 'new' army lists into the pre-existing sourcebooks/adding a new sourcebook is what's going to happen.

When i first heard that the hobbit was being made into a film I theorized that gw would do exactly as they are doing now. A new edition, a source book for the films, then a final edition. So far, my prediction has been spot on. (I wasn't a member of the forums at the time so there is no way to verify the actual verbage of my prediction. You just have to take my word. Do it. Take my word! Believe my unfounded, no way to tell if i'm lying to you word:) )

There is absolutely no proof for that. Unless you posses factual evidence, there is no need for unnecessary negative speculation.

To the best of my knowledge, GW has the rights for another 4-5 years. I would assume that after the third movie they'll make one final, big push for the system. Hopefully in the form of a single "Middle-Earth SBG" rulebook and maybe a couple of starter sets, one of LotR one for the Hobbit.
