Looks like your getting to grips with eyes. Can you see the advantage ?
What first stood out was the slightly tanned skin tone, I like it. The contrast on the axe blade has been executed really well and is something you should look to do across the whole figure.

I've just been catching up on your full thread and its great work. I especially like the faces on Dwalin, Balin and Bombur. I look forward to the next instalment. :)

Dwalin looks great. You're already knocking out faces so well, that's very impressive

I think you have a fantastic painting technique. If I had one criticism it would be that he looks too clean. Freshly bathed Dwalin, not rugged killing his way through dank and dirty goblin town Dwalin. But that's a personal taste thing.

It's been months since I last painted anything, I've been so busy due to be starting a new job and moving house, so now I can finally paint anytime I want instead of at the odd weekends, so it was good to finally paint something again! I recently got some of the new dwarves models and painted Balin this evening, what do you think? :)

Great work Amy! you have done a great job on the face here. I thought the skin tone for Dwalin was a little 'orangey' but Balin is spot on. You could possibly try for a little more contrast in the red skirt, but that's just being nit picky. How are you finding the resin casts of these dwarves? I've only just bought my first finecast mini so don't have much experience with these.

Great work, like the face, as Edge mentioned some work on the red cloth contrast would improve things on which is already a great paint job

I think the resin on these dwarves is really good, really detailed and nice to work with. I didn't have any problems!

Painted Dwalin and Oin on my day off today. I think they're not bad, but I after a break I am remembering just how hard it can be to make them look good when they're so small. I think the Finecast makes them incredibly detailed but sometimes I've found this can make it hard to look good as it can make things so small and super detailed, like chain mail for example. Maybe it is me being picky!

Anyway what do you think? :)

I think you've made a good job with these.
You seem to forget how little time you have been painting these figures and the standard you are producing is good by many standards. To do two figures in a day is some going, once you look at pushing your style you may find it takes longer to complete one, but that is for something down the line.
Keep up the great work.

Thank you for the encouragement. I think I do underestimate my work somewhat, I've posted this photo on Facebook and I've had lots of likes and positive comments, it always seems to be the ones you think aren't your best that others love for some reason! :P

Very nice really impressive the level of detail you were able to get and still paint them up so fast
