Hi all, I decided that I would start my own WIP thread in the hopes that I may be able to inspire others to improve their painting in the same way that I have been inspired by some of the threads on here.

So let's get started then, here's the start of Thorin's Company. A lot of you probably saw these on Facebook last week, but anyway.

Welcome to the One Ring.
Nice work on the dwarves, some nice contrast. You are obviously not a beginner.
In general they have that gritty look that is very fitting.

Welcome aboard.

I like what you've done with the Dwarves

Thank you all for your kind words.

You are quite right in assuming that I am not a beginner, I've been painting slowly for nearly 3 1/2 years I think (mainly 40k stuff, with a few other things thrown in).

And the gritty feel was exactly the look I was aiming for so I'm happy someone picked up on it and approves.

I've been trying to get Gloin finished this week but was struggling to get the NMM on his axes to a standard that I am happy with. Might post some photos up later to see what you all think.

So I think I am happy with Gloin now. Took me a while to get those axe heads figured out.

Again, need to do the base but I will do them together in a batch.

Nice work. It takes me 3.5 years to paint a mini too :)
