Varnish can cause a problem at times, but nothing that can't be undone. What varnish are you using ?

I'm using Vallejo matt varnish. I may have applied a too thick coat :(

Surprising. Only once have I had a glossy finish using Vallejo Matt Varnish. I left it to thoroughly dry and applied another coat which worked perfectly. I think it's worth another coat, make sure you give the bottle a good shake.

Yep... maybe that's it. I'll give it another coat and see what happens 8)

Problem fixed xD
And now I know exactly what the problem was... I was thinking that varnishes do not need to be shaken. how wrong ... :?

Nice to see you back painting. I agree with Gandalf that your Gandalf is one of your best yet. I think all the white clothing makes the face stand out nicely.

@Mally - Thank you :) It's been almost a year since I got back into the hobby and I feel like i'm improving in a good pace. And this forum has been crucial to that :D

@YOrcShire - Many thanks :) I'm not feeling particularly happy with the white robes, but then again, I know white is a hard color to paint so i feel pretty good with what I got to do :-)

I agree with the others. Comparing it to what you posted a year ago you're up to a good intermediate standard now. White can be 'over' done I think, so don't worry too much about it. Sometimes too many shades can ruin it too. Keep up the good work.

Hey guys. I just finished the Rohan Guard.
In this one the spear got broken leaving me desolated. After trying to glue it back for 3 days unsuccessfully, i decided to make a little different approach.
I think this is my first conversion (really small) ever xD

I decided to glue a spare Numenorean sword and then glue the spear in the base.
The mini just needs the base done, and I'll post more pictures when it's done.
Tell me what do you think please :)

Here are the pics of the finished model.
I'm feeling really bad about the broken spear... but I'm happy with the final result too.
