Thorins company are great models, they are both great to paint and a pain as they have set schemes to keep with the films (almost would be better if there was nothing to reference for them to see some real good work). Bombur is looking good.

I know exactly what you mean! In one way its cool but I'm sure it would be equally interesting to see what folk could come up with without the 'official' schemes.

Bombur was one of my favourite to paint in the company. Looking good so far and great work in the rest of the thread too.

Okay so not the best of pics again but here is some wip of my second dwarf from The Company. This time we have Oin. I've tried to take my time building up the various layers, particulary with his scarf which is a great feature of this model. Still needs a good wash in places with highlighting still to be done with his face and beard but he is a good way towards being completed.

Just laying down the first few layers of highlights on Gloin. One of my favourites to paint so far.

So I'm still slowly working my way through these guys. Last few days Kili has been on the table, lots of lovely detail to pick out. Great to paint a force with every model requiring different colours. Certainly keeps things interesting.

After this, all that that we have left are Dwalin and Thorin. Plus Gandalf and Bilbo, who I might actually save for sometime in the future. Will see.

Lovely smooth painting mate. I know what you mean by great to paint a group with all different colours. I'm painting the Champions of Erebor set on and off and I feel the same about those.

Hey thanks man. I can imagine that for you its an even bigger relief and change to paint a bunch of individual models. Especially after all that elven gold!

The Champions of Erebor look like beautiful mini's. Hope to see a full group shot of them all when you are finished :)

Unfortunately there won't be a group shot of the champions until I paint my own as they are being painted alongside other job and shipped off to the client as i finish them. I'll paint my own soon tho as I have really enjoyed painting them.

Funnily enough I'm still painting lots of gold as am working on a large Easterling army now. I must have done something wrong in a past life to deserve all this gold painting lol.

Keep up the great work buddy.

I am so so pleased to have at last almost and I say almost, completed Thorin and his company! Still have Bilbo and Gandalf waiting in the wings but the dwarves are near enough done. The beady eyes among you will notice there are still bits here and there to finish off and I'm also not quite done with their bases yet. Waiting on a scenics order for those.

It has been such a fun little 'big' project, really managed to get into these guys. Sad the journey is at an end to be honest!

I'd love to be able to get some real decent photos done sometime to showcase them properly but for now here is just a quickie I snapped earlier.

I've been saying to myself for a while now that as a reward for completing this lot, that I would treat myself to a brand new army of Mirkwood! Pretty excited to get my hands on some and start the next proj.

Awesome. These are going to look great when they're all finished!

I started working on mine and got distracted. Just 5 Dwarves left.

Great to finish these, a mighty well done to you. I can say that they are none too shady as well, nice job. I like Thorin.
I am on the same set, I have 8.5 dwarves to do and about a dozen goblins !

Thanks for the comments as always guys.

Found a quick hour early doors this morning to get some paint on Bilbo. Messy face and shiny lighting but I'm happy enough with how he's turned out.
